Such ignornace...its oustounding. Especaily that one type of nerd would knock another. You know how non-nerds get star wars so misundderstood based of their limited exposure, and yet you bash based of very limited expsure.
Anyway, I think it would be interesting. If they could dogfight like Outlaw star or last exile, it would make a cool actuon show. Aslo, I know one or two animations teams that could take lightsaber fighting to whole new levels of cool without turning it clone wars level off the wall.

Any bleach fans here? Imagen the Ichigo vs (big uber powerful 'loves to fight' guy whos name I cant remember) fight but with lightsabers!

I was watching bootlegs of Crying Freeman, Kamui, Akira, Venus Wars, Ninja Scroll, Riding Bean, First of the North Star, Demon City Shinjuku, Kabuto Tengu, Urotsukidoji, Ranma, Appleseed, Golgo 13, Blood Reign, Doomed Megalopolis, Vampire Hunter, and Yotoden before you could find Japan on a map. Anime is great, but it's not Star Wars.

Well the Clone Wars 3D Animated TV Series is supposed to have an Asian anime look to it. I think the Clone Wars 3D Animated TV Series may look like the Final Fantasy movies.

I'd love to see an anime version of the PT. In particular, of the Mace-Sidious fight. I think it was unfair for Lucas to expect McDiarmid to learn an entire fight sequence in his advanced age 30 minutes before the scene started when Hayden and Ewan had months, and it would end the argument once and for all as to whether Palpatine was really "holding back". Plus, the benefit from anime is that you don't need CGI, thus you don't need to remake or remaster the original footage because the CGI looks unrealistic or dated. I would just hope that they don't take too much artistic license making certain scenes more disturbing or violent than they already are. Just my take on it.

Of course, that will be teh pwn.
And, I also see that FFVII Advent Children like...many times already, it's so good to be off from realism! Yet, there's DVDs avaliable for it. Others I have watched: Elfen Lied (theme song included in my sig.), Blood+, Black Cat etc. Seriously they are far more better than just the Star Wars. And, I'm quite surprised to what a small and isolated world most of SW fans are live in...

I wouldn't mind anime adaptations of a few of the EU novels and/or comic books. If under the right art direction, it could be made to look nearly identical to the Dark Horse comics. It's also good to keep in mind that "anime" doesn't all look the same. There are certain character designs that the Japanese viewers respond to, so that's what the animation studios produce. Given that this would be a strictly American intellectual property, Lucasfilm could dictate more western styled character designs.
What I love about anime is that it is an artform, not a genre. One poster mentioned not wanting panty-shots or tentacle sex in their Star Wars. Me neither, but consider that if you take that same logic of judging anime as a whole and applying that to, say, American live action films, you could cite any porn of your choice and claim that Citizen Kane is quite likely filth.
The major problem I see is how to convince the animators that a lightsaber cauterizes the wound and that it would not bleed. Paradigm shift right there.
