darkcide posted: I think this would be a great idea. Get the OT actors to play the parts and then rotoscope it to make them look younger! Also bring in some new people for Xizor,Dash Rendar,Guri,etc.
After everything we have seen in the prequels I think the Vader Portrayed in Shadows is not a good aproximation to the Vader as a 6-movie character, now that we know everything that went behind, besides we also know the foil of Xizor's plan now that we know the true extent of the relationship between the Emperor and Vader, maybe if they reworked the story a little to make it more atunned to the 6 movies it could work, but where it stands right now? nope...Shadows is a thing of the past, an EU mistake like many others that is inconsistent with the movies...

I think SOTE is much more consistent with the movies than any of the post-ROTJ EU stuff.

Oh, I agree with you, but even though is much more consistent than any of the Post-ROTJ EU stuff is still a little off balance, which implicitly means that the post ROTJ stuff is pretty...."out there"....far out...

Heh-Heh. Good pic. Michael Ironside looks kind of like Hugo Weaving. He could make a good Xizor too.

That's because with such a large-scale thingy (games, music, multi-media) they had to incorporate something called 'fun'.

If they were doing this silly rotoscoping thing (which looks like some Adobe filter) then I'd cast my vote for Dennis Quaid as Dash. Why not?
Dash = Poor Man's Han
Dennis = Poor Man's Harrison

I think it would be cool in traditional animation. CGI has been done to death.

...Which certainly explains the sudden resurgence of stop-motion techniques in the filmmaking industry today.

That's not a fair comparison though- you're talking about a different application of CGI effects that is used to replace a (generally) outdated FX technique (though I'm not sure CGI has ever been able to top the ESB walkers, for the most part) vs different animation styles.
I think most people agree Disney closing down their traditional animation division was a huge mistake- it's ironic that it took the heads of Pixar taking over Disney animation to possibly bring it back. And you still have a ton of anime or anime-styled shows done traditionally, and you ahve shows that incorporate a mixture of the two styles. It would actually be rather boring if all animated products were CGI.
There's still the elements of art forms and styles involved in animation that will pretty much ensure there will continue to be a mixture out there, I think.
