Just a broad dicussion, based on inspiration from another thread.

Seeing as Lucas doesn't do TV shows, how do we think he'll end each episode ?

Will he go for the '24'-like cliffhanger to make us watch next week?
Or 'Lost'-like where some are revelations at the end, but the next episode starts somewhere else ?
Or possible Star-Trek like where most episodes have a start, middle and end, but still flow into a bigger story ?

Ideas and hopes ?

Good question. I'm thinking probably a mixture of stand alone episodes(Example: smugglers, Shady Politicians ect.), with episodes that follow an arc dealing with the Rebellion getting stronger(Example: an episode where the X-Wing is introduced to Rogue Squadron).

Please no merrily-laughing heroes at the end of every episode... I will seriously shoot myself if it comes to that.

Maybe there will be a moral to every episode that gets explained to us in the closing scene (a la Battle of the Planets) wink

I don't know about the Lost idea. After all, that show is based on a huge set of mysteries that no one can explain. Therefore, every episode has a degree of "revelation" to it. That's the nature of the show.

The Star Wars show (correct me if there has been some sort of update) doesn't seem to lend itself toward that kind of ending. It sounds as though the ending wouldn't go so far as to make it an Endor celebration just before the credits either. I don't think the show will center around 44 minute movies, like CSI or any of the Law and Orders.

Heroes comes to mind. The end of the episodes aren't full of revelations as with Lost, but there are new bits of information. It is definitely meant to set up the following episode, but they tell a story pertaining to that exact section of the story.

Then again, it could be like Firefly where there is an overarcing story, but each episode stands by itself. It all ends at the end, but not the total story.

It could have a non-ending, but followed by clips of the following week's show to make you watch it.
Most TV shows these days have some sort of hook to get you back for the next episode.

ah come on, how about just a few celebrations here and there? tongue

I always thought it would be cool, if late in the Series they introduced the X-wing in an episode. With the X-Wing, Rogue Squadron could have their first victory against the Empire, ending the episode with cheers and fists in the air. cool
Our heros deserve a little celebration during the Dark Times. tongue

I'd like to see a structure similar to Star Trek and Firefly, with self-contained episodes (and the occasional ...to be continued eps) contributing to a broader story arc.

It will end with credits -- and a preview of the next episode.

I think it's going to be similar to how Mr. Roger's ended each of his episodes, except George will put on a flanel shirt and sneakers and blast his way out the door. tongue
