What I find interesting is that according to lucas not only will there be a second animated show after clone wars, but the live action show will end up spliting into four different shows. Each show will focus on a specific character

I am trying to find it too.
I found this..dated Mar.7th
"Another wild rumor Lucas was quick to tackle was the one concerning another potential big-screen Star Wars trilogy, one that would take place after Episode VI. According to Lucas, "The Skywalkers are done." He did talk at length about the animated series, which he says takes place between Episodes I and II. Basically, all the characters from the first three episodes will be in there, as well as a host of new ones. There's a chance Boba Fett will make an appearance, but as Lucas states, "It's possible, but he's still a little kid -- remember that." On whether or not a clip or trailer for the animated series will be shown at Celebration IV, Lucas smiled -- but in a way that suggested IESB was reading his mind -- and said, "That, I cannot tell you." Finally, when asked if he had anything to say to Star Wars fans, Lucas replied, "Star Wars is not dead ... it's going to get better and better over the next few years.""

This is dated Mar.3rd..
"Bad news for "Star Wars" fans: the live-action TV series is still "years away", according to George Lucas. Lucas spoke to a packed crowd at the Museum of Television and Radio in Los Angeles about plans to bring "Star Wars" to the small screen.
An animated series based on the Clone Wars is in development with Lucas to produce 100 episodes, but the live-action version is a long way off.
Lucas revealed that the show will follow four separate character arcs, with each episode dealing with one character ala "Lost"."

From another post on same speech...
"He then made some intriguing but hard to pin down comments regarding what the live-action series will be, stating it was, "One show that will split into four shows, focusing on different characters." This sounds as though the series might divide its time between four different primary storylines/characters, which would go hand in hand with previous comments Lucas has made about exploring different parts of the Star Wars universe. However, as there were no more specific comments made about the live-action series, we're left to speculate for the time being."

He also said something about not doing anything with the stories from the books. He was asked if e was going to do a tv show or movie on the comics, books or games and he said: Something like "No, We are inspired by them but don't take them literally."

Quite interesting and shows that the EU is not as important to him as his own creations. It's the only time I have actually heard him say anything like that.

Shame it means we are unlikely to ever see a Rogue squadron series et al.

If you want to see it Malkie, this is it:

Very interesting stuff. Its about time we heard something about the live action series. So, theres going to be 4 central characters and each episode will focus on each character? Presumably their stories will kriss-kross and be interlinked, though?

Kinda. One of the articles I read referred to it being kind of like LOST.
Ya know how each episode they may center on a certain character and show them
before the island and then what is happening currently.
It shows us more in depth stuff about them one at a time.
4 characters were mentioned tho in regards to this set-up.
Who knows what ones, guess we won't find that out until it starts
in 2009 or 2010 *waaaaaaaaaaaa*

Whats confsuing me is that LOST has a large number of characters, but this show will only have 4, so won't it get kind of dull if it keeps focusing on the same 4 characters week in and week out?

George didn't say there would be only 4 characters - it said there would be 4 stories (probably 4 seperate arcs) It's very likely that these arcs will include multiple "main" characters - I'm having a hard time coming up with a comparison, except Heroes - on heroes, there are probably 6-7 "arcs" and each of them consists of at least 3-4 "main" characters - for Instance, Claire's arc has Claire, her dad, and Zach as important members of her arc - I think with this show, there will be 4 different groups set as heroes (from a certian point of view) that will interact with each other at certian points, and fight each other at certian points - this would be a HIGHLY intense drama - It would also be a story that would only be capapble as a tv show, but not as a movie.

I wouldn't mind if they had some shows that focused on minor characters.

Although if they did it like LOST, we might end up hearing about every character's traumatic history...

*Mace and Obi-Wan trek through a jungle*
Obi-Wan: Whoops... it looks like I stepped in a snake nest...
Mace: *damn *&%#*&!!!
*Mace pulls a Vader and slaughters all the snakes*
Obi-Wan: Good heavens man... what's gotten into you?
Mace: I'm sorry, Obi-Wan. It's just that... well... it's nothing.
*Flashback 20 years earlier, on a ship*
Mace: I have had it with these motherkriffing snakes on this motherkriffing ship!!!

Personally, I hope it is nothing like LOST. I don't really like that show because there is way too much wierd stuff going that they take forever to explain. And even when they do explain things, it is still pretty vague. Anyway, I'm getting off topic. I'm not really big on flashbacks. They are good in moderation, but too many is overkill in my mind.

I would like to see the live action show put together similar to how the Clone Wars shorts were. You have different stories and every once in a while you have an episode where the stories cross paths.

I doubt it'll be anything like LOST. I'd think any comparisons there were/are being made because LOST is well-known and popular, and the nature of pre-hype and marketing is to compare a new project to some existing successful project, whether the comparison is apt or not.

I'd think, narratively, it'd be closer to the earlier episodes of Heroes -- several characters with their own semi-contained arcs, with some characters eventually meeting and/or crossing paths.

I also think it might be structured like the "Action Pack" that was in syndication in the 90s -- which eventually gave birth to Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. For those that aren't familiar with it, "Action Pack" was a syndicated time-slot, where each week a different show would air (i can't remember the others now; they didn't take off). So (generally) one week it'd be Hercules, next week another show, then another the following week, then back to Hercules, etc etc, all under the same "Action Pack" banner/brand.

I think the SW series would be like "Star Wars: The Dark Times" being the show as a whole, while one week it'll be say (for example)Fett's storyline, the next week a Jedi renegade storyline, next week a smuggler storyline, then rotating in that fashion. That's the way i'd prefer the show to be done. Plus, it potentially can aid the show's "staying power", as if it seems that one of the individual "series"/arcs turns out ot be more popular than others, it can be concentrated on more while the less successful/popular are dropped out (as what happened with Hercules vs the other Action Pack shows).

The latest comment from Lucas about the live action series was when he talked about Indy IV to USA TODAY

It's described in that article (presumably this comes from Lucas himself?) as being a "a "bare-bones, action-heavy" Star Wars live-action TV series"

Bare-bones and action heavy are interesting phrase's to use. By Bare-Bones is he meaning minimal characters? Minimal sepcial effects? Anyway, an interesting quote.

bare-bones? odd use of words, and maybe we shouldn't make too much of it. Perhaps he means compared to the production of a major movie, or maybe he means a lack of recognisable characters
