Live Action Series: Character Predictions
|
Firstly, let’s sum up where the story has left off in episode III. The Jedi have been overthrown by the new Empire and are on the run. Vader has just been “born” and he’s pretty ticked off. Palpatine has FINALLY achieved his ultimate goal and is the Emperor of the entire freakin’ galaxy. That’s no small feat. He’s probably just swelling with more power than ever and eager to proceed with more of his plans with the help of his new apprentice.
Now here are the characters I think will be in the Live action TV series along with my reasons. I'm not saying they will be main characters, I'm just betting they will be in it at some point:
Emperor Palpatine - The next step for Palpatine is probably to hunt the entire galaxy for the remaining Jedi. He is still basically controlling everything however we probably won’t see much of him. He’ll probably appear now and then as a hologram or something.
Darth Vader - Palpatine’s main man and top Jedi killer. I’m really not sure how large is role will be in the series but I’m sure he’ll be in it from time to time. After all, he is the main character of the saga. The great thing about the character is you don’t need a specific actor to play him because his face is behind the helmet.
Boba Fett - We know he already has ties with the Empire. He is the only clone with no “growth acceleration.” By ANH he is a bounty hunter. What made him want to be a bounty hunter? Simple... He watched the Jedi kill his father. Stormtroopers - Clone armor or ANH armor, I am not sure. But, I’m pretty certain that we’ll see lots of them.
C-3P0 - Rick McCallum: "…we will be using Anthony as C3P0 because there is such a thing as loyalty."
R2-D2 - Where would 3P0 be without him!
Captain Antilles - Here is some dialogue from ROTS:
Bail Organa: “Captain Antilles.”
Captain Antilles: “Yes, Your Highness.”
Bail Organa: “I'm placing these droids in your care. Treat them well. Clean them up. Have the Protocol Droid's mind wiped.”
...And from ANH:
C-3P0: “Our last master was Captain Antilles, but with what we've been through, this little R2 unit has become a bit eccentric.”
These lines of dialogue show that Antilles is 3P0’s owner over the entire span of the TV series, so I think it is safe to assume that he’ll be in it.
The following characters, I’d like to just see in moderation. I’m talking about just a few episodes:
Han Solo - Who knows who they’d get to play him, but it better be someone great. We all know there are hints of a backstory in the films Involving Greedo, Jabba, The Imperials, Chewie, Lando, etc.
Chewbacca - Well we didn’t expect him to be in ROTS, but there he was. If Han makes an appearance, I’m sure Chewie will too. We now know that he helped Yoda. It is safe to say that he will be in support of the other remaining Jedi.
Lando Calrissian - That story of how Han wins the Falcon from him would be sooooo cool to see.
Greedo - A little backstory would be nice. Han clearly already knew him before ANH.
IG-88 - While we’re talking about bounty hunters, hey, who knows.
A New Jedi- I’m sure there will be more than one. I bet the main character will be a brand new Jedi, constantly running from the Empire.
There you have it. Any more? Be sure to give your reasons for more suggestions.

Here are mine:
Quinlan Vos- Uncle George saw this guy in the comics and obviously liked him well enough to spare him the grizzley death planned for him in ROTS. He likely made this decission right about the time that he started thinking seriously about a post ROTS TV show. After the announcement of the TV show, he went out of his way to save him a similar grizzly death in the Republic Comics - I think it's safe to say that George has something planned for the Character.
Master Tholme- a wize, mentor figure who also survived the clone wars, he would not be nearly as complicated to bring to life for a tv show as, say, Yoda was, but would fill a similar role - could easily be a jedi martyr.
Kahleen Hentz- Her death (and the death of her son Korto) would be an excellent motivating factor for Vos to begin some sort of crusade against the sith.
Mon Mothma- The actress who was supposed to portray her in ROTS would likely love to reprise the role and do it justice.
Garm Bel Iblis - I think this is how you spell this guy's name - in ALL the EU material, he was a major factor in the creation of the alliance. So I'm sure he'll have something to do.
Bossk, Zuckass, 4-LOM, Dengar, IG-88, Aurra Sing- I doubt Boba Fett is the only famous bounty hunter to make an appearance - these 6 (especially Bossk and Sing) are very likely in my opinion, since bounty hunters have been rumored numerous times, and they are the fan favorites.
Grand Moff Tarkin- I think Wayne Pygrim's cameo was too much trouble to go through if they were not planning on having him reprise his role. Tarkin was a small enough character that he could still be considered a very minor charcter from the movies. HE likely will be a much more visible face of the empire in the series than Vader/Palpatine.
I agree with most of the previous speculation, but I have to doubt Han and Chewie - I think if they show up at all, it will be VERY cameo-esque. I also don't think the Droids will have a major part. Vader and Palpatine will probably show up some, because they are ruling the Galexy, but I don't think they will be main characters. I think the 4 main story arcs will be two foils that constantly interweave. They will consist of the fledgeling Rebellion foiled with the rising empire, and the surviving Jedi being hunted by the powerful Bounty Hunter's Guild (and the Hutts/Black Sun). Just my guesses based on all the information that has been released so far

^ I like the Idea of Tarkin being there. Mon Mothma too. She was great in ROTS and they should really put those scenes back in the film. The EU characters you added I'm not sure about because I don't follow EU. They may be great ideas none the less. I know Quinlan Vos has a brief cameo in TPM.

I see Tarkin and Organna playing quite a big part and them building some kind of rivalry. For me this would make sense, seeing as Leia clearly recognises Tarkin in EpiV and it would add a little context as to why Tarkin was so willing to destroy Alderaan. I dpn'tknow maybe Tarkin discovers something about Organna and wants to understand what he is up to and so starts to investigate him. This could also involve Boba Fett working for Tarkin and someone loyal to Organna e.e Antilles. What do you think?
I also think there will be a lot of new characters and few ones that we recognise.

watching prison break the other night they said the elec chair makes you incontinent. So does that mean that mace windu pooped himself right before he went out the window? Or did Luke make a stain on
the death star? maybe DV died of embarasment?

I guarantee R2 and C3PO will be in there somewhere, just as a cameo, most likely. 
As for everyone else, well, The Emperor could figure somewhere (I'm sure his presense will be felt, even if he isn't actually shown) but as for other characters, it really depends on what the story is for the show. If its about The Rebellion against The Empire, then Bail Organa and Tarkin will probably show up. If its more of a Jedi On The Run type thing, then Boba Fett and Darth Vader (amongst other famous Bounty Hunters) could put in a few cameos. But, I have a feeling most of these characters will be left out for brand new characters and if I'm being honest thats what I'm hoping for. I really want this show to take Star Wars in a whole new direction, to show us new characters, new places, new vehicles, new story's, etc...

One word, mate; Droids
Other than that, sounds great yeah! It'd be nice to see some PT/OT cameos to bring things together more, and I'd be well chuffed if IG-88 was in it. Although I can't remember off the top of my head when (in the timeline) the Imp scientists created the IG-line. He's in an episode of Droids, but I always assumed that was closer to ANH than it was to RotS.

Well, Hopefully.... God willing...... You are wrong on all accounts and none of those characters will be within a million lightyears from this series and it is a series of a completely different time in the SW universe.
Like maybe a few thousand years before all that when there was a little excitment.

I think we'll see more Boba Fett but I don't think we'll actually see Vader or Palpidious. I imagine a more likely course will be to hear references to Vader, Palpidious, and the Jedi, rather than see them. Though I could see this be a story about a Jedi on the run from the Empire. However, this story arc would be quite the downer since the Jedi would have to ultimately die prior to ANH.

I don't think the show will focus on any of those characters; they've already been fleshed out. I think the show is going to revolve around new characters or at least the not so predominate characters of the PT & OT. I could see maybe a cameo for Palps and Vader, if nothing else they'll be mentioned, but not focused on.

I agree with you. I also think it will focus primarily on new characters, but I do still think that most of these characters will make appearances.

You would think it would be a downer, but was the end of ROTS a downer? As much as I love the jedi, the order 66 scenes were amazing and very emotional. The whole ending of ROTS is my favorite part of the whole saga. Tragedy's are also very good stories.
I had a thought that perhaps some of the Jedi could leave the order, simply to not be killed by the Empire. ...This would be a way around having our main Jedi characters not actually die. Then when Yoda tells Luke he's the last of the Jedi, that statement will still be true, but there could be "retired" jedis in hiding still somewhere in the universe.

I think Tarkin deserves his own TV show. And not just a single episode. Give him a whole damn series! If Lucas is so generous throwing around ideas for multiple future TV series, I think he could make a killing on Tarkin's character.

We all know that Tarkin's a living embodiment of Paplatine's species-ist Empire. He'd never bed hot alien chicks.
Hot human ones, maybe... 
Unless he's in some kind of denial about his feelings, and the repression of his desires is leading to closet self-loathing, the result of which is publicly using Ackbar as a slave to throw people off the scent.
