I think your right. These are key characters that would be great for the Live Action Series. I think the "Delegation of 2000" (Rebel Alliance) will be good for this show as well as the continuing hunt for remaining jedi in the galaxy. Wedge Antillies, Grand Moff Tarkin, Antonio Matti. I think to focus on characters in the movie who only appeared in cameos, but have significancy. Fang Zen and Mon Mothma will be good for the show, and it will also be nice to see Jedi Master Quinlan Voss. Just some thoughts, what do you guys think ? Mara Jade would be kool to.

Unfortunately yes he did  . Another poster had it in a different thread. I was shocked as well. Hopefully they will think more upon this matter between now and 2009. If they still decide no jedi, o well it will still be amazing.

True, but keep in mind he also said appearances are definite possibilities, except for Vader and the emperor who he said would be heard of but not seen.

One character prediction I'll make is Chewbacca. Peter Mayhew has this mysterious way of staying connected with the series. And besides, C-3PO, R2D2, and Chewbacca could be the three characters that would be familiar to the audience and wouldn't disrupt the storyline. I'll make a prediction and say we'll see the enslaving of Wookiees. I'll also go out on a limb and say with confidence we'll see Quinlan Vos. I believe he was pulled from Episode III and only mentioned in passing because Lucas had in the back of his mind to flesh this character out more in the live-action series.

Maybe, because the Jedi Counsel is no more, Quin no longer considers himself a Jedi? Lucaspin! 
I'd recommend waiting to see the final thing. Even with what's been said, I reckon we'll see the odd Jedi here and there... just like I think we'll see space ships, lasers, strange new aliens and fantastical worlds. All things Star Wars.

Oh, I think Jedi may appear in a later season, but I think Lucas simply means we won't see a Jedi meaning we won't see someone using a lightsaber or the Force in the first season. My expectation is that in a later season there will be a massive season finale that's been built up to all season that will end with the heroes facing certain death with no way to escape when all of a sudden we hear 'snap-hiss'* and it cuts to black.
* The common way to write out the lightsaber activeation sound.

I presume that the rebl alliance will be an important part of this series so I'd expect to see Mon Mothma and Bail Organa.
As for Jedi, I'd be surprised if they don't appear at all, they probably just won't be regular. The occasional cameo from Obi Wan would be nice, but it might depend on whether Ewan McGregor can be persuaded to don his robes once in a while. Ewan is a huge Star Wars fan so I'd have thought that he might. It'd make sense too. Leia seems to know that Kenobi uses the pseudonym Ben in ANH which suggests further contact between him and Bail between RotS and ANH.
Clearly the non-Jedi are going to be the major focus by a large margin though, which should be interesting.

I read somewhere that the story would leave the Skywalkers alone and focus on other characters. I would bet big money that during sweeps we see the big name cameos though. Han's life debt story should be a must by the way.

I don't know. I really don't want to see anyone other than Harrison Ford play the role of Han, even if it is for a younger character. It just wouldn't feel right. And I don't think having Luke shooting womp rats would help sweeps. lol
