Given the new "no Jedi" statement, here's what I'd like to see:
A James Bond/24/Mission Impossible-type show starring Kyle Katarn as an Alliance special agent.
Other than Kyle, here's how I'd like to see other characters and their roles:
Bail Organa, Mon Mothma, Garm Bel Iblis, and later on, Borsk would be Rebel leaders who give Kyle his jobs. Jan Ors acts as the female lead/romantic interest. You could have whatever Antilles was in Ep 3 as the droid's owner and leader of a precursor to Rogue Squadren.
There's also alot of villains they could fit in as well. You could have characters like Tarkin, Xizor, and Jabba as main villains. By extension, they can use the Empire, Black Sun, and the Hutts as overall villains. Characters like Boba Fett, Bossk, Dengar, and various smugglers would make good minor villains.
They could use some other characters this way too. They could have Corran Horn as maybe a CorSec officer who goes from an enemy to an ally. Talon Karrde would make a cool non-rebel ally when dealing with criminals. I'd kind of like to see them somehow use Mara Jade as an Imperial assassin.

This whole show is a perfect way to fill in the backstory on some of our favorite characters so seeing Han as a younger man would be fine with me. The actor would have big shoes to fill but it can be done. Han's my favorite character from the saga so i'm down to see what they can do with it story wise. Come on; as mentioned before how cool would it be to see the sabacc game or the wookie rescue. Greedos background would also be a blast to witness.That's the beauty of the format they can piece it together like short stories woven into the larger fabric of the show's mythology.
I'd also like to see the backstory of "NO DISINTEGRATIONS" . How freakin' cool would that be?

I don't think we'll see anything of Han. But Greedo would be fun to see. And yeah, if Boba Fett is in there, the NO DISINTERGRATIONS line would be cool to explore.

Well that is an interesting point about a series of the SW underworld. That would be a cool show to see. We could follow some pirate on the run from bounty hunters. We've hear bounty hunters being thrown around a lot, but mainly for Jedi on the run. I can't wait to see what avenues they decide to take the show(s?) down.

Great to see this thread still going. However it's been 9 months since I started it and we still haven't gotten any more hints! I'm thinking more and more that about 90% of the characters will probably be brand new ones. But... 100 episodes calls for an awful lot of characters.
...I want to see another character like Kit Fisto's species in it.
Anyway, hopefully we'll hear some more news soon!

I think those focusing on the Rebel Alliance are on a pretty good track:
- Mon Mothma
- Bail (cameos)
- General Rieekan (Echo Base Commander)
- General Madine
- General Dodonna
- Admiral Ackbar
It would be nice to have some transition figures between the two sagas that are old enough in the OT to appear as younger incarnations in the TV series between the two trilogies. Some of their back story, how they formed or were eventually drawn into the alliance, their friends and families, etc. [EDIT] -- thinking along the lines of Nien Nunb and the like . . .
I think Imperial Moffs and governors might also be showcased -- fringe movie/novel characters and some new ones for some added spice.

I heard that If the T.V. shows do well wish I hope they will, they may do a third T.V. show back in time about the Sith VS Jedis quote on quote KOTOR era. I mean it would be cool to see the Sith World and why they had so many different Empires and Cult Groups. If the two new T.V. show of Star Wars does well, then chances are for the KOTOR to happen are very high. Lucas said so himself that it well happen if the do as good as the movies, if not movies then maybe just as a T.V. shows. My predictions of the T.V. series is about 50/50. Hopefully it will go higher if Future Reviews are becoming good.
It would be Even cooler if they made KOTOR into Movies. Just Imagine Natalie Portman playing an evil Sith Warrior.

I just watched Will Smith's movie I Am Legend and i hope that some of the characters in the TV shows will be like that, smart and tough and trying to better the galaxy around them by bringing down the Empire in alternative ways, like a scientist or doctor that is forced to do bad things and tries to do their work for the Empire as humanely as possible while doing things in secret to benefit someone else that is opposed to the Empire, basically good people that are working for the empire but are disillusioned by it and trying to help the oppressed in their own ways, a Gandhi or Malcolm X type character opposing the Empire.

just what I think "grey" characters that will turn good or evil depending on the situations they face, let's say 3 follow the good/rebel side and one thinks the dark/imperial side is sexier and then you have the first tv-series and its 3 spin-offs.

* The newly appointed Regional Governors.
* The Senators who attend increasingly curtailed Senate meetings.
* The key players of the Rebel Alliance; disgruntled Senators (etc) joining it.
* Sly Moore, and any other non-uniformed agents of the Emperor who heavy people on his behalf.
* Bib Fortuna; and where there will be other Twi'leks there will be fame.
* A miscellany of droids and probots.
* TIE pilots in more personal detail.
* Another motley crew of Bounty Hunters to annoy Admirals.
* The blink-and-miss-it red flash of Imperial Guards. "Did you see that?"
* An entire episode based around that big-(and hairy-)nosed creature in Jabba's Palace and Sail Barge. *kidding*

However, in a new interview with the Star Wars Insider magazine, producer Rick McCallum reveals one big detail: Boba Fett will be a part of the series.
McCallum clears up the rumors, telling Star Wars insider "The series will be about brand new characters, a group of people we haven't seen yet, except Boba Fett, who will be an instrumental part of it. The series will also showcase other bounty hunters."
Now I'm uber-excited!
