This thread is for all discussion about The Clone Wars cartoon series.
What was your opinion of Star Wars' first modern day venture into the small screen? What was your favourite episode? Which character did you think was realised the best? What didn't work so well for you? Were the longer episode's of the second series better than the shorter episode's in the first series? And what about the DVD's? Do you still watch them? Were you satisfied with the extra's they put with the DVD's?
Whatever aspect of The Clone Wars you want to talk about, all opinions and discussion are welcome, so please post here.

First of all, a belated "good to have you back, G-Fett"... brings back 3SA memories... before the dark times...
I only have volume one, and I have watched it a few times. But I have volume 2 on my computer from Hyperspace. I genuinely enjoyed both volumes of the micro series. But I love what happens in the Graphic Novels WAY more. I hope the new show moves in a direction closer to that.
There were some ridiculous, though still enjoyable, moments throughout... Mace windu versus an entire droid army, anyone? Even though that was silly, it is still up there for most memorable episodes along with Episode 20 with the Arc Troopers rescuing the Jedi from Grevious, those are probably my favorite episodes. Probably the coolest moments...

G-FETT I think you might want to retitle this thread to avoid confusion. I thought this thread was going to be about the upcoming CGI show "The Clone Wars" not about the animated series "Star Wars: Clone Wars."
Star Wars: Clone Wars = Animated series seen on Cartoon Network
The Clone Wars = Upcoming CGI series

I thought Clone Wars was a great series, only gripe; should have been more Chapters. lol. Seriously, though, I loved everything about the micro series. Being able to see Jedi pull off tehse spectacular feats; Mace against the droid army on Dantooine is one of my favorite moments.
And then seeing Grievous face off with those ARC Troopers, a fantastic moment. The only real problem I had was with the voice of Sidious, it was too evil and cackly. Overall, I loved the style, of course I'm a huge Samurai Jack fan, so that was a no brainer.

I really enjoyed Clone Wars when it came out, and it fulfilled it's purpose as something to hold us over until ROTS came out. So it was definitely a success in that area.
However with repeat viewings on DVD I have come to not being a huge fan of it anymore. It has it's moments (especially Volume 2's Grievous kidnapping Palpatine parts) but I think overall the style of it does not suit Star Wars. It is a little too ridiculous and stereotypical of a Cartoon Network action show. But like I said, it has it's high points and although it is flawed I think it was worth it in the end.

I think that's a pretty fair assessment.
I didn't have cable when it was first released, so I was excited to watch the episodes online with Hyperspace.
I liked the cohesiveness of Season 2, but Season 1 had more "fun" moments. Really liked Anakin becoming a Knight, never understood why Lucas didn't want to show that in the films...
I have the DVDs and enjoy them, but only infrequently. I think I'll probably pull them out once or twice a year.

I concur.
On topic, I really like Clone Wars. It really raised my interest level in Shaak Ti. Continuity issues with Labyrinth of Evil aside, the Palpatine rescue/abduction part, in my opinion, is the best part. The train station sequence is very cool.
I loved seeing some of the OT aliens, particularly Max Rebo's species (top 5 favorite OT aliens for me). And I liked that it expanded on some of the very, very minor prequel characters in the medium of film & television.
At first, I was disappointed that they chose to go in a different direction with the upcoming, ongoing Clone Wars series, but I'm getting to use to the 3D idea and am starting to dig it.

My favorite episode from Season 1 was the Kit Fiston one-shot. Lightsabers under water is just awesome.

Thanks 2nd.
I've got to say, my favourite series was series two. I thought the episode's definatly benefited from being longer - It allowed a little more character development, IMO.

I also loved seeing Mace flying his starfighter around. Something I wish Sam Jackson had done in the actual films. Loved it when he took control of the droid startfighter and started slashing passing droid ships with his lightsaber.

I love the micro-series episodes. It definitely encouraged my fandom of some of the "lesser" PT Jedi such as Shaak Ti and Kit Fisto. It was "over the top" at times, but that was an aspect of its style, and i felt it fit the feel of the series. I love popping in both discs and watching the whole of it as one continuous "film".

I love both Volumes 1 and 2. Tartakovsky captured the spirit of Star Wars very well. I would love it if Lucas got him to do another Animated Series in that Galaxy Far Far Away. An Adventures of Han Solo and Chewbacca would be great.

One thing that's fun to do is a have a Clone Wars Trilogy. Watch Attack of the Clones, then watch Clone Wars: Volume 1 and Volume 2, then top it off with Revenge of the Sith.
