I tried watching the trailer but it just5 said: Please make a selection. I let it sit there for a minute and still nothing. I've tried it over and over but still nothing. Can someone tell me that since I've got Dial-up it'll be a while or something?

I may be wrong, but I would think if your on dial-up you can pretty much forget being able to download this trailer at the OS? I'm sure other, more technically minded people, will know better than I, though.
And Roo, Winter 2003 = "Lucas Go Cawwaazzzyyyy" Somehow I don't think the wait for the 3D series will be quite as agonising as the wait for ROTS.

I felt a great disturbance in the force. As if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror. Then were suddenly silenced. The Saga returns; August 15th 2008.

I think what makes it feel less like a photocopy is that the beam itself is different- it's not some pulsing laser beam, but rather some kind of electrical charge, more similar to the stuff used by Grievous's bodyguards than the superlaser. Just the delivery mechanism is similar in design (which makes sense if the original Death Star design was Separatist-made).

You're not the first person whose told me that. But I do mean it- it's some kind of superweapon they had with an homage to the DS superlaser composite tunnel, but it's not the same type of weapon so it comes across to me as less rip-off, more homage.

Garth, ya, I agree, and that's the irony of it all. Because Vader was the first Sith created for the saga, he ended up becoming the model for all others. Even the ESB script originally suggested that Palpatine should be a Vader clone except with an even deeper voice. Now the all-powerful Vader of ANH has been retconned into a far weaker figure than he once was and we discover that he doesn't even really have any special skills that other Sith (and miscellaneous hangers on like Asajj) don't. It's getting to the point where almost everything that was original and cool in '77 is being portrayed as just one in a long line of similar items. Vader's another cookie cutter Sith apprentice, despite his supposed special destiny, and the Death Star had already existed in ten previous incarnations before the Rebellion mustered up the chutzpah to attack it.

Why's choking such a special skill if everyone can throw people around. It works on the same principle.
Lightning was always more special, and I've only seen Sidious and Dooku use it so far. Of course..Everyone's sprouting lightning from their hands in the New Republic.

But Vader was the only one who choked somebody on his side!!! That's evil.

Asajj Force choking that dude cracked me up. Pretty much all of Vader's schticks have been completely deconstructed and put in the hands of other characters now.
I'm still having trouble getting used to the style of the animation, and the faces in particular are weird. I think it looks good other than that, though.
Like I said, we already know how it's going to end up.
That's like saying there is no point to showing the Prequel Trilogy because we already know how everything turns out.

Thus it is that in war the victorious strategist only seeks battle after the victory has been won, whereas he who is destined to defeat first fights and afterwards looks for victory.

Not quite. There's a difference. With the movies, we knew the end result. It wasn't a matter of "what" happens. We knew that Anaikn would become Vader. Rather, it was a question of "How" it happens. What made the first Clone Wars animated series great was that it was part of the process of "How" Anakin became Darth Vader.
So now we already know "How" Anakin became Vader and "How" the clone Wars played a part of that downfall. And, of course, we already know that Anakin becomes Darth Vader (the "what").
So there's really not much intrigue left to this series other than the cool new graphics and seeing dead Jedi and Sith back in action.

Well, if you want to get technical, we still don't know the how of many of the events between AotC and RotS. There are still plenty of stories to tell. They just aren't as anticipated by fans as the Vader story has been.
I do agree a post-RotS series would be awesome, though. I imagine EU is going to be blossoming all over that era in the coming years.
