Actually TMN, I have seen that show. It's probably one of the better reality shows. I like it much better than Dancing with the Stars. First off, the stars aren't really stars. Well they may have been in a previous life. Second, I can't stand the judges on that show and everything gets so drawn out. So You Think You Can Dance is very entertaining. It's quite amazing seeing what people can do and that's what is most impressive. I'm just not a fan of the "staged" dancers that are put in for pure rediculousness. They do the same with American Idol. They have a lot of great singers, but they always throw in the bad singers (even those dressed as Jedi) just to get a laugh. It was funny at first, but it's obvious they're planted.
Actually, I don't know if you guys get it, but the Amazing Race isn't bad either. It's basically a race where couples race around the world performing different tasks, etc.

Sweet news. I actually think that it's possible the best reality show. Your point about Dancing With The Stars couldn't have been said any better. It's the same case for our show down here. I can't stand it. I am amazed by the dancing on SYTYCD ... utterly in awe sometimes. I saw the second season of the American show; that's what got me hooked. Nigel Lythgoe is a really good judge, too. It's always good having a "judge" that you like to hear comments from. Fortunately, the Australian version acquired a superb judge as well.
I'd actually disagree with you on the planted singers/dancers. I don't think they are planted per se by the show ... I just think they are used/exploited by the show for variety/ratings. It's amazing what a personality can do, love or hate.

They're definitely used to exploit the show and I don't know how some people make complete fools of themselves (what seems on purpose) in front of national or global television. I guess everyone wants their 15 minutes of fame.
Has the whole Heath Hedger deal been all over the news down under? It seems it's been leading all of the news stories here which is pretty sad considering the other news seems much more relevant. Granted I did like him....but he was just an actor.

Oh right, I don't think we get that show in the UK. Sounds interesting. Personally I try to avoid reality shows as much as possible.
I did watch the very frist Big Brother in 2000 or 2001. It was an interesting social experiment, but should have been stopped after the first series, because obviously, with slef-knowing, people start to "act" for the camera's and it becomes a characture of itself. Thats exactly what has happened.
What do you think to my look? I used to sport this look in 2004 when I modded 3SA. Depressing isn't it?

I like the new colors you're sporting around. And I don't think that they are that depressing. They're just a bit dark. A mod back in 2004? When did you get asked (is that how it works?) to become a mod for the JCC? How many different forums have you modded?

3SA was the Episode III spoiler forum. I was approached by the then head admin, Darth Sapient and modded from June 04-June 05. When I stpped down. I then came back last April to mod SSSW.
You generally get asked if you would like to mod, by forum mod's if they notice you. You noticed just be being a generally good user.

Ok, now I understand. I was never sure how it was exactly done. I didn't know if it was done by a social network, number of posts/years on the boars, etc.
Should the rumors be true about the 3D Animated series debuting in theaters, will you be going to the midnight showing (assuming they have one)? I've been on opening day a couple of times before, but never the midnight showing. I think it would be a first for me.

I've never been to a midnight showing. They usually release the movies on a weekday and as I work, I don't want to be out all night. Now, if they would release them at weekends, that would be differant.

I did midnight showings for AotC and RotS. Surpsisingly few people dressed up (no, I wasn't either). Great atmosphere though!
I doubt they'd do a midnight for the animated movie/series-opener, but if they did - I'd be there

I'd actually be a bit surprised if they didn't. It seems as though Star Wars and midnight showings are almost synonymous. I've heard of few people going to midnight showings other than Star Wars. IF they did release it in the theater then I might have to make up for the previous 6 and go for it.
Or I could see Indy 4 at the midnight showing. Anyone else going to be checking IndianaJones.com at Thursday?

I generally don't do midnight showings- i prefer the first evening showtime- it's just as packed, but you get a more honest experience since that's when the general public is more likely to see the film.

By the same token, though, 2nd, the atmosphere and feeling you get from a midnight screening of fellow fans is unmatched in its love and intensity. I've loved the couple midnight's I've been to. I'm the same as Blackout -- I saw AOTC and ROTS at midnight (*high five*).
And G, I actually love those colours; it's the icon that makes it "depressing".

Rumor is that the writer's strike will be ending today! AND I heard that some shows will even try to finish up a few more episodes, even go into June if they have to.
Sadly, I think we're still going to wait for the final season of 24.

I'm also curious about what they're going to do with the rest of Heroes. The writing in that show is what made it so great.
final season of 24.
