it seems everyone already pointed out my favorite parts of the episode (han solo being the only actor who's career wasn't ruined by the movie, coach mcquirk being in the bar scene, chevy chase) so i'll add something to the discussion for those interested in the DVD. It's coming out the 15th and includes:
**Family Guy: Blue Harvest Special 3-D Edition
Comes with everything the regular edition has plus:
Collectible packaging
2-3 minutes 3D flight scene with Thai Fighters (comes with 3D glasses)
A Family Guy: Blue Harvest themed t-shirt.
12 trading cards (forms a 3D scene on back)
12 page booklet with script excerpts, production notes, letter from Seth, photos, and drawings
**Family Guy: Blue Harvest (Regular Edition)
Content:
48 minute movie
Interview with George Lucas & Seth MacFarlane
Commentary by Family Guy cast
Uncensored Track
Sneak preview to "Something, Something, Something Dark Side” (a parody of The Empire Strikes Back)
more info on Http://www.joinstewiesdarkside.com
I personally can't wait for the 3d Thai Fighter scene

I'm surprised they didn't save that line for Return of the Jedi, since that's the film that riff was based on.

Can anyone confirm that there is only one disc in the "Special Edition"? I'm not a "Family Guy" fan and I didn't think the show was very good, but I'm enough of a collector to want the DVD. Now, I'm already leaning towards the Special Edition because of the trading cards, but I also saw this image:

It shows 2 discs and I'm wondering if anyone knows if this is an early concept shot or not. If there's two discs, I'm definitely getting the Special Edition. If not, I'm still undecided.

I'm gonna guess the SE has the 3D sequence and stuff on a separate disc, but I'm only speculating.

I saw two sneak peeks - one was a teaser (features menu) and the other showed them reading lines from the ESB episode (options menu). Anything else?

I've never seen an episode of Family Guy but I love a good Star Wars spoof so I have to ask is this worth a blind buy?

In 1977 George Lucas created the Star Wars Trilogy and changed the way we look at movies. In 1999 George Lucas created the Prequel Trilogy and changed the way we look at Star Wars. Frasier, Lost, and Whose Line Is It Anyway? are the best tv shows ever.

Acording to the DVD special features, they will be making The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Good news! Don't know when they will be made because of the writers strike

The second disc comes with the regular edition as well, which I got. It appears to be a version of the episode you can download to your PC/Mac.

I just waned to get the word out: The DVD version of the Family Guy Star Wars parody includes scenes not featured in the broadcast or Adult Swim versions reinserted into the show itself, like Family Guy DVDs do. Such scenes include:
Obi-Wan/Herbert using the Jedi Mind trick to get into the cantina, which is like a nightclub
A Imperial news broadcast with Tom and Diane as Imperial news anchors reporting on the destruction of Alderaan
A newly-inserted scene where we find out whose couch that was that Han/Peter took
New Rebel hanger scenes with Joe Swanson (the guy in the wheelchair) as Biggs
Just wanted to let everybody know about this, because it isn't something that isn't as heavily advertised.

I had got the Special Edition of blue harvest and was Suprised by the size of it! It was like having the classic Trilogy box set in your hands :P. To confirm another poster's question, Yes, the Special edition does come with 2 disks. Disk one contained the extended show and pecial features, and the 2nd disk was just for the digital copy. Besides a digital copy, the 2nd disk does not work on any dvd players, just the dvd-rom drive on a computer. There is also a code inside the case on a DVD insert that you will want to keep if you want to do the digital copy.
I found the Extended show much more funnier than the inital release, and i think the only reason many were cut were due to time. The dvd menus are made to look like the SW dvd menus and did a convincing job to make it look like a SW dvd production. Also the special features were fun to watch as well. Listening to Seth talk to George was not only insightful and interisting, but I learned a lot on how George does many tasks in Lucasfilm. The way he was guessing the music Seth was humming was pretty funny :P Then you get a anamatic version of the episode that had its own set of jokes and other characters that was cut out, especialy Jon Benjamin's blond haired character on family guy, that was replaced by the sarcastic-joke forigner.(Which explains why Coach McGurk from Home Movies was in the bar scene, yet his voice was nowhere to be heard)Then there are the Making of Blue Harvest and the Commentary that is alomst a common feature for the Family Guy DVD's. Then I believe there is a Family guy promo at the end. Although I didnt see any footage from the next Family Guy SW spoof, they did confirm that they are in production and that they regret using Blue Harvest for the first one when they could have done it for ROTJ(Can be seen in the making of feature). I also believe that they are having a contest as well online that will draw the person in the next SW spoof so yea, thats always neat to enter. Then there is a 3D flying sequence that a person can watch with the inserted 3D glasses that come with the set.
The other stuff in the set are quite neat as well. The collectable cards, the T-Shirt, and the smal artbook were neat to look at and nice to have included. Because its such an awesome set, i just cant bring myself to pen up the cards or te t-shirt, so i still have them untouched in the case.
Its an awesome case. I myself was able to get it for about 25 dollers for the SE and the regular set was just 14 dollers. I reccomend getting it sometime this first week before the price goes up. I figured, why not pay the price of a regular dvd and get all the cool stuff then to just pay a lil less for pretty much nothing? Go for the SE edition, you wil not regret it!
