I for one never agreed to the changes that the special editions got, and saw them as a warning perview of what was to come with the prequels. Though I will reserve judgemnt for the live action tv series, I have more faith in the clone wars animated series. That one looks very promising. She's definitely not an idiot. I think the point that he's changed and possibly for the worse artistically is certainly valid. The only gripe I've got with the piece is the tone.

Lucas kept doing Star Wars because the "fans" wanted him to, then many of those "fans" turned on him because the new movies didn't live up to their memories from childhood. I love the prequels and ROTS is my favorite film of the six. To say that the dialog in the prequels is worse than the OT is rubbish. To say the love story could have been better could be true, but anything would have been better than the potential Luke/Leia love story set up in EP5. Most of the these critics forget the faults of the OT when bashing the new films. I consider them to be less of Star Wars fans and more of Opportunists.

His strength has always been with visuals, always will be. Idiot is the term I used and it may be a bit harsh, but thats what comes to mind when comparing Lucas's work to the Bible, or to Michaelangelo or what ever. Since when did Han Solo start adopting Russian infants? Her analogies are way off base.
Robimus posted:In closing I'd just like to say that to be concerned about the live action series because you don't like the direction Star Wars has gone is totally fair. To me that article sounds like its taking shots at Star Wars fans as much as it is at Lucas. Why would someone who hasn't liked anything about Star Wars since 1983 still be even paying attention?(She doesn't even take her figures out of the package if she truly owns any).
