I've noticed that a lot of fans, ever since the PT has been around, are frequently upset or disappointed based on their own assumptions or expectations. All George cares about is what goes on in the movies. He doesn't care too much about what a writer came up with as far as the Jedi code goes, and nor do I. At the start of Ep III, Anakin is no longer Obi-Wan's padawan. George said in an interview today on the official site that it was a move in part to get Anakin to become more responsible. Let's say he screws up and Ahsoka is reassinged. Because of the time span, that might be a few weeks at the most. I don't see why Obi-Wan or really any of the characters would need to bring it up in Ep III.

It's a bit silly when we have seen not one second of this movie and people are already pitching a fit about a character and a plot line we know hardly nothing about. It looks pretty juvenile, IMO.

And that's where continuity jumps in. I don't care if the time span fits the material out already. And I like the idea of Anakin with a Padawan to make him more responsible. There's a wagon-load of potential in that. grin
So i say, let them take all the time they want, it's not as if continuity hasn't been mended before.

I don't think this has been discussed yet.

It looks from the trailers as if Anakin is returning to Tatooine. I thought he would never return there after his mother died....

I wonder if we'll see Anakin free all the slaves.

Thats the first thing that came to my mind when we started getting Tatooine pics from the series. Thats something I really expected to happen in Ep.II after seeing TPM for the first time.

The Debate about the Clone Wars 3D movie, not being a movie... is over.
And LFL is the one who killed it.

***

Clone Wars Books

The "Children's Bookshelf" newsletter from Publishers Weekly has a story on the upcoming books to tie in to The Clone Wars animated MOVIE and TV series, with some comments from Lucas Licensing's director of publishing, Carol Roeder.
* The release date for all the MOVIE tie-ins is July 26th.

* There's a much more concerted effort for kids' tie-ins here than there ever has been before. Dalmatian Press, who produced a SW Big Box of Fun in 2001, are producing colouring and activity books. DK will produce sticker books, "Visual Guides", and DK Readers.

* It seems that the Grosset & Dunlap books we've heard about thus far are specifically MOVIE tie-ins, and more will follow later for the TV series.

* A novellization of the MOVIE from DelRey will be released.

***

And with that,
I'd like the title of this re-CHANGED back to what I originally labeled it:
Clone Wars 3D MOVIE and how it affects your view of the PT

I made no mention of the series for a reason, and now that intuition has paid off.

And, please re-relocate it back to the PT Forum.
Since this CW-MOVIE and PT related topic doesn't belong in the SSSW Forum.

Thank You,

Sx3

But why have a separate thread in PT for "Clone Wars series and how it affects your view of the PT"?

Just because you only want to discuss the theatrical release (A.K.A. the first 3 episodes), why should the thread be limited to it?

It's not the fact that a movie is being released that will send this thread back to the PT, but the fact that the content of the thread is PT-related.

It's an advanced theatrical presentation of the first 3 episode in movie-form. That's never been a question. Since the theatrical release predates the TV debut, they are obviously distinguishing merchandising tie-in release dates for those that coincide with the theatrical release, as opposed to the TV debut in the fall. Nothing's changed. Now, if the theatrical movie is in fact completely original content made specifically for the big screen (as opposed to episodes reworked to fit within that presentation format), then you'd have a case, perhaps (though SSSW will likely be getting a name change shortly that would likely negate that anyways).

I started this thread for that EXACT purpose, because I HAVE NO DESIRE TO DISCUSS THE CLONE WARS TV SERIES. If someone doesn't want to join this discussion because of its limited scope, then they don't have to... no-one is holding a lightsaber to their throat. If someone wants to start another thread to discuss the in's and out's of the series, then be my guest. I promise, I'll never visit it. And since when, have posters ever been restricted from starting a topic that they want to discuss? There have been a gazillion threads where the author laid out specific parameters for posting on their topic.

What really confuses me is, I got it squared with a MOD before I started it, and then a MOD changed the title to include the series. At that point, it was on a one-way to derail-city...

Besides, even some of the MOD's and/or Former MOD's in THIS thread have commented on how they think that rigidly sticking to being "On-Topic" doesn't help with retention, but I digress.

That was the intent of this topic, in the first place:
content = PT related.

If you honestly thin that the TV CW TV series and the CW movie are two different entities then you are fooling yourself my friend.

Maybe you should read the entire thread.
The movie is marketing Anakin, his padawan and then the rest.
The series has a broader marketing theme. They are very much being split in two.
The movie is getting a stand-alone novel. Enough said.

Apparently, that's what ALL of the posters (from the PT-Forum) did when they moved this thread in here.

Why don't they move it back to PT when the main theatrical trailer is released? People will probably start getting curious.

SSS - why don't we just leave as "3D movie/series" for now, and see the response to the thread? If you still want to stop after the movie/first 3 episodes, then we can start a separate thread for the rest of the series.

IMO, including the word: 'SERIES' is what derailed the thread in the first place.
And since it has been moved to the SSSW Forum, only Obi Chron has followed up on it.
The move also killed the 'off-topic' discussion.
doh!

yeah, the thread was growing quickly, but was getting off-topic.

I'll support you putting this back in PT, although it's nice to have a thread this long in SSSW. laugh
