It has been too long since we've seen the classic heroes and it would be an easy way to introduce many characters that not everyone is familiar with, especially with over 20 years worth of stories. Or they could make one during the OT showing other battles against the Empire, but whatever the case it should be CGI as I don't ever want to see the classics get recasted.

More adventures with Luke, Han, Chewie and co please.

If I remember correctly Lucas said a while back that if the upcoming shows were successful they would probably go farther in the past with any future shows. I think he said a KOTOR era show would be strongly considered.

^^^ I hope you're right! I've never heard him say anything about that before, but I'd definitely be watching. It's an interesting time period to cover and one that could do very well.

I think he said it right before he got his Lifetime Achievement award in the summer of 2005, so things could have changed.

He hinted they might explore something set in the KOTOR period if the new shows do well, when asked about a KOTOR show at C3.

I'd like to see a cartoon between IV and V, personally

post VI would be good, too - just anything with the original characters

As long as these new tales dont screw up the continuity I'm all for them. I just don't want post a RotJ show that destroys the EU continuity. If Han and Leia all of a sudden didn't have kids it would be a tough pill to swallow.

Then you probably wouldn't want it. I'd love to see George's vision of the post-ROTJ GFFA, because so much of what I hear about it in the EU sounds absolutely outrageous (like the Yuzang Vong invasion) so I don't pay attention to any of it.

Making any post-ROTJ TV show would be like stepping through a minefield. It'd be real easy to screw up continuity. Then there's getting the actors. If the originals don't want to return then recasting will be the only option. Besides, the New Republic era's already had enough stories told in it. I think it's time for something fresh.

One easy solution is just wiping the slate clean. A tabla rassa, if you will. Reboot the EU. Sadly, that will never happen.

George has expressed concerns over the longevity of this show, so it's possible that in 4 or 5 years he'll decide to play in another era, perhaps between IV and V or a completely new timeline.

I don't really have an opinion on more shows until we actually see the current ones in production. They are really the stepping stone for anything to be done in the future and I want to be blown away by their brilliance first.

I honestly think countless star wars fans would love to see a Post ROTJ storyline. I bet there's a chunk of SW fans who don't like the prequels at all and avoid them, but would welcome revisiting the original time period.

I'd like to see a post-ROTJ show for sure, but I would prefer it to be more along the lines of Legacy (which I haven't read yet) where we have descendants, but not the actual original characters. Partly because we couldn't do a live-action series with original characters and I'd like to see a live action show).

It would be cool to see GL's version of how Luke did rebuilding the Jedi Order and how the Republic did rebuilding as well. I know people have continuity concerns, and there's no real way to get around that I guess. But aside from Legacy, is there a whole lot that covers the future down the line after the original characters have passed? Did GL have any real input into Legacy? Because if he did, then maybe he can use that framework and go from there.

Either way, I'd love to see it. The more star wars the better IMO!

The Ewok movies are set pre-ROTJ.

I don't believe that a post ROTJ series will be made, but I hope that they consider either a second star wars live action tv series, or a second animated star wars series but..I don't think that will happen.

Due to the way they are doing the clone wars, if this movie is succesful coupled with the series for year 1, we could see a sequel, plus a year 2 and possibly a third movie with year 3. I also strongly belive that we are going to get the official in depth lead up to ROTS in this new style of animation. No, they won't contradict what occurred in LOE or the other Clone War cartoon series, but one that would lead to the ROTS

Now that I think about it the best way to do a post-ROTJ TV show is to adapt some of the books into a mini-series. Unfortunately that would limit them to either the NJO or LOF unless they did a recast. Still, I wouldn't mind seeing the Thrawn trilogy made into a miniseries even if the actors are different.
