Well he says:

"I've left pretty explicit instructions for there to be not any more features. There will definitely be no Episodes VII-IX."

To me that doesn't sound like he encourages anything post-RotJ. The opposite, rather.

Nothing in the recent post- ROTJ era. Like George has said, there's really nothing after ROTJ, at least not for a few hundred years.

However, material not specifically deemed Episodes VII-IX might be permissable- I don't think he sees Clone Wars as Episode II.V or the Ewok Movies as Episodes V.III & V.VI. An animated or live action TV series could be fair game, i think. Just no theatrical movies specifically positioned as a direct follow-up or continuation of ROTJ.

A few weeks back he made a huge contradiction by saying there are no more movies, other than spinoff type things like this. lol Which basically means there might be more movies.

Is that a huge contradiction though? I think he's been pretty clear that there won't be episode VII-IX. There could be movies like the upcoming CW one, but there won't be a new trilogy continuing the Skywalker story because the Skywalker story is done (according to GL).

Milk won't run dry because the income from the EU novels/comics in the post film era will continue to supply it.

Sorry folks...it's been made pretty clear that Lucas brings his grand tale to a conclusion with ROTJ...which I actually like...it means as the universe continues to expand, the importance of Endor will continue to grow.

Personally, the only way I could see anything coming post films would be something animated...and probably not even the main characters...perhaps they try something like an animated version of the "Legacy" comics...perhaps anime style? praying

But I wouldn't consider something like that for many MANY years...probably after Lucas no longer handles day to day stuff.

Until then...his vision...and thus the focus of any theatrical/tv/animated projects will all take a knee and circle around ROTJ as the final opus...it is the end.

Maybe, but nowhere near what the movies rake in. Think about it, the PT was received very lukewarm by a LARGE cross section of fandom and yet the dough rolled in like dillinger was chasing it. Imagine if they had been well received? There will be tremendous pressure to get them made. Lucas has the final say-so but there are a lot more factors involved. Sure, there's the party line that "the story is over" but that's bullhockey when you factor in that it's all fictional. The allmighty buck is an irresistible force and GL is obviously not an immovable object.

No predictions, here, one way or another but i'll believe it when i see it.

It's happened before. The Dune story was over with God-Emperor, but the fans whined until Frank Herbert wrote the Heretics-Chapterhouse-whoknows trilogy that he never finished. That's one example. Sherlock Holmes is another (and he was DEAD when Doyle brought him back, story doesn't get much more 'over' than that).

Man, it's hard to believe it's almost been TEN YEARS since TPM.

Really, Lucas? Then why the hell isn't Vader the main star in the live action series? SW saga is supposedly all about Ani. So where is he in the LA series. Lucas's LA series contradicts his whole paragraph. Since it is placed within the saga shouldn't it be about Anakin since SW is about Anakin?

He's saying the 6 movies, "Star Wars" if you will, is about Anakin-Vader. The LA series is in the same universe, but it's not at all part of the main story as told by the movies.

At least, that's how I read it.

Listen he said, the reason there won't be anything after RotJ shown is because Anakin isn't around. But in this LA series, he's not going to be shown. So...get what I'm saying? Ani isn't needed for a show set between the saga why is he all of a sudden needed for stuff after RotJ?

I agree with this. There can be a show that takes place after ROTJ which doesn't focus on any of the main characters from the OT. It can be a show focusing on a small group of people affected by how things changed after ROTJ.

GL said that he won't do Episodes VII-IX but that doesn't mean there can't be other mediums taking place post-ROTJ.

In Lucas's mind the war and the Empire ended with the Battle of Endor.

And yet, supposedly this LA series has nothing to do with the war.
