I'd rather have more material on anything before ROTJ (KOTR, Darth Bane, Plagueis, Episode O, Clone Wars, etc) For me personnally, the story is over after ROTJ. The Sith are destroyed, as predicted by the Prophecy. In my imagination, Sidious doesn't come back in clone form, Chewbacca doesn't die, and Luke doesn't marry and have children. Instead, Luke and Leia restore the Jedi Order and The Republic respectively.
Since there is no real enemy of the Jedi (namely the Sith), I don't see the point of seeing it in film, book, or animation.

Oh god, yes, the Sidious and Luke clones...
A toddler could have thought of that and dismissed it as too cheesy.
If I were Lucas, I'd forbid post-RotJ EU. It's just that gruesome.

The good far outweighs the bad- and, as mentioned earlier, the Sidious clone was Lucas's suggestion (though it certainly ended up being surprisingly appropriate given his quest for immortality in ROTS)

Well he thought that was a better choice than having them use another guy running around in a Vader suit. Nearly every plot I hear about in that era comes off as silly. It's my opinion that nothing much happens after ROTJ, other than fighting a few baddies here and there. To have the Sith return to power so shortly after really takes away from the last scene when we see that freedom has been restored to the galaxy.

Well said, Wookie. The story is over at ROTJ.

I actually think the Vader imposter would have been a better story than the Palpatine clone- it's more plausible (no new force technique needed), and it'd be a lot stronger of a figure head to rally the Empire remnants around (sorta like the Thrawn imposter in the Hand of Thrawn duology)- cause, there's, what? 3 people who could prove fake-Vader wasn't real Vader? Would have been a pretty good story.
Though, the sequel trilogy similarities do make the Palpatine clone plotline at least an interesting curiosity, and it doesn't really affect Vader's sacrifice much, since he probably didn't care about ending the Sith- his only intention really was to save Luke's life, and Luke's still around, so what he accomplished still endured (not to mention the 6 years of downtime for Palps shattered the Empire almost irrevocably).
But I digress- for every clone or sub-par story line, you have several great ones like X-Wing, Thrawn, Katarn, Legacy, etc. Not much different a mix of quality than any other medium or era of Star Wars

Why do we need Sith in Post RotJ show? Not getting them in this series. You could always use the Yuuzhan Vong that alien race from another galaxy. If Sith aren't needed in this LA why all of a sudden we need them in post RotJ stuff? Hell why do we need hordes of Jedi in a Post RotJ show?
Oh and too all you Clone Wars fans. Post RotJ game Jedi Outcast has a way better story and is way better than any of this Fake Wars...i mean, Clone Wars stuff. And as for Crime Wars, it sounds like it would've worked in any timeline since Sith and Jedi aren't seen anywhere.

"If I remember correctly Lucas said a while back that if the upcoming shows were successful they would probably go farther in the past with any future shows. I think he said a KOTOR era show would be strongly considered."
Holy hell! That would kick all kinds of ass.

Then once again he'll be contradicting his words. Since Anakin and Sidious aren't in it, they show shouldn't exist.

I think we'll forgive him. I've never played the games, but it seems like an interesting era to do a show in.

I wouldn't be surprised if Lucas found interest in the KOTOR era- the era technically exists because of Lucas providing an outline on the history of the ancient Jedi and Sith (at that point in time) to Kevin J. Anderson for his Jedi Academy trilogy, which was then expanded upon (and combined with backstory from Dark Empire) to make Tales of the Jedi, whose events established the era which subsequently spawned the KOTOR game and comic.

From StarWars.com's coverage of C3:
"A fan asked the chances of exploring the KOTOR-era Jedi or the origins of the Sith on TV, and Lucas stated that if the television projects are successful, he would examine the possibility of moving elsewhere in the saga."
http://www.starwars.com/community/event/celebration/f20050419/indexp17.html
He's said in the past that he hopes this lasts 5 or 6 seasons. And he and Rick have both said that they'll keep making SW shows as long as we watch.

Cool how about a show between ANH and ESB. It would be the Stargate Atlantis of SW TV.

Wouldn't the prequel era technically be the Stargate Atlantis of SW? (being as the classic era is the original ala SG-1)
