Why not go 10,000 to 20,000 years before a new hope.

The NJO novel series in Live-action is the way to go.
1) You have the OT characters + the next generation
2) The next gen. are teenagers (no one wants to see little kid jedi, eg. TPM)
3) Lots of characters, stories, and action in the novels
4) New actors for the OT characters would not be so bad.(get OT luke back if possible)
5) Series has a more "grown-up" tone which would be a good change.
6) The YV are bad-ass.

Their ain't going to be one. GL said that he has no story after ROTJ. That stuff will be up to the novels and comic books.

I am with you with this one. I really don't want to see one after ROTJ. The Sith are done. I really don't care what the comics or books have to say. There is more to be explored before TPM and in between all of the movies.

flashbang posted: It has been too long since we've seen the classic heroes and it would be an easy way to introduce many characters that not everyone is familiar with, especially with over 20 years worth of stories. Or they could make one during the OT showing other battles against the Empire, but whatever the case it should be CGI as I don't ever want to see the classics get recasted.
More adventures with Luke, Han, Chewie and co please.
For one, I think that Hamill, Fisher, Ford, and Mayhew wouldn't want to do it anyway; They, for lack of a better word, have careers now. Second, We have Novels, Comics, Video Games, and whatnot that details all the adventures that the OT Trio and company have after ROTJ.
However, a TV show/Cartoon set before TPM would be a good venture.

I think you could get Mark to do it- he's quite active in voice over work. Besides the Joker, he's had recurring roles on Robot Chicken & Metalocalypse, among others. Fisher might be convinced (though she doesn't sound like Leia anymore, so I'd be more inclined they get the actress who voiced Leia for the Radio Dramas- she was better in the role anyways). Ford they'd never get, but I would think a suitable Ford-sounding substitute could be found (not the Radio Drama actor, though- he was a bit goofy). You could probably get Billy Dee for a price (he's already reprised Lando in the Dark Empire audio drama [or was it Dark Empire II?]. Ditto on Dennis Lawson for Wedge (voicing Wedge in both an Audio Drama and in the Rogue Leader game). Daniels would likely be onboard too. That takes care of your major movie-originating cast for the post-ROTJ era, pretty much. 4 or 5 outta 6 ain't too shabby.

I would think that Dennis Lawson would not be in something like that. I had heard that he was not too big of a fan of Star Wars, and that he regretted doing it or something like that. I can't remember where I read this, but I came across it when I was reading how he is Ewan McGregor's uncle and he had warned Ewan about how deep of a role Obi-wan would be and stuff like that...I could be wrong of course.

Looking it up, i was slightly mistaken- Lawson performed the audio book adaptation of Heir to the Empire (so, technically, he did reprise Wedge for a few lines ). He definitely voiced Wedge for Rogue Leader, though (however, IIRC, his voice was replaced in the multiplayer version of RL that was included in Rebel Strike- I'm guessing to reduce royalties on what was essentially bonus content).

Now that Lucasfilm are so into doing TV shows, there isn't even a need for a sequel trilogy. We get CW3D starting this year, then the live action series covering the time between ROTS and ANH hopefully released in 2010 at the latest, and then if these two are successful (which they will be trust me) then they can do a show covering post-ROTJ. And there, they have 3 fairly big projects to occupy themselves with. And the fans too of course. And there isn't a need for any more movies. Especially if each show is about 100 hours long.

Well if there is a post-ROTJ show, it's not going to have George's blessing. Like he's said, the story's over after the DSII was blown up. The galaxy has been freed. If we do get a series with the OT characters, it'll likely be set between IV and V.
