Came across this guy http://www.ssc-concerts.com/typo3temp/pics/42b1ad02c5.jpg Rob Birch from the stereo MC's
Has a great resemblence to Peter Cushing. Not sure if he can act, but they should at least get him in for a casting if Tarkin stars in the new series.
Would beat that freaky looking mask they used in Revenge of the Sith http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/thumb/5/5b/Young_Tarkin.jpg/200px-Young_Tarkin.jpg

Wow, there is definitely a strong resemblance. I definitely hope we see some sort of Tarkin in the series. Whoever fills the position will have big shoes to fill.

Yeah, there's a superficial resemblance but....that guy looks like a stoner, not a cold-hearted, tyrannical general!

lol, is Rob Birch still alive? He looked like he was about to keel over in 1993
I still think Ralph Fiennes would've been good for Young Tarkin (I'm undecided about the dodgy mask).
Anyway, I got all excited when I saw the thread title! Like this important bit of news has slipped past TFN or summat

They should keep Wayne Pygram, who played him in ROTS, but just use better makeup. The guy already looks and acts like Peter Cushing with only a little makeup.
As soon as he first appeared on Farscape as Scorpius, I thought he'd be perfect for a young Tarkin- so it was a happy surprise that he actually got the role in ROTS, but a disappointment that the makeup was crappy and that he had no lines.
Still, rework the makeup and he'd be perfect for the role- he's already an established scifi actor and already has experience playing a character very similar to Tarkin in his demeanor (alien and cyborg characteristics not withstanding).

I have to say that one of the biggest things I am hoping for in the live-action series would be for them to touch on some of the Grand Admirals, especially Thrawn, and maybe just introduce some Mara Jade. I'm sure it won't happen but I would at least like for them to put in a Grand Admiral or two. That'd be sweet

I thought the makeup was fine in its context in ROTS, considering we don't exactly get the best look at him.
However, yeah, in the TV series it would be a bad idea.

I agree. It'd be nice, but the position of Grand Admiral was only created two years before the battle of Yavin. Still, you never know.

Yes, he was distant from the camera in ROTS. You only see close ups in promo photos.
