Asajj actually connects her lightsabers into one double-bladed lightsaber? You can see her doing it in the trailer and I can't remember her ever doing it in the previous cartoon or comics.

I don't remember seeing Asajj with a double bladed lightsaber in any of the comics, and certainly not in CW I or II. I don't see how two curved hilts would make a comfortable or durable double bladed saber, though.
In the behind the scenes footage it shows her deflecting bolts with it, and as far as I remember it just looked like a normal double saber, almost as if it was Mauls.
Obviously it's not, Maul is long long dead.

She uses it in Jedi:Mace Windu.
That's probably the only time I can recall off the top of my head.

That was her introduction in the comics (and to SW fandom in general). It's a nice throw back to her debut.
(ok, technically her appearance in Republic #51 occurs before Jedi: Mace Windu, but JMW was released first  )
