I swiped this idea from the IMDB message boards, thought it would be interesting to see here...

Credit where credit is due, here is the link to the original thread i swiped.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0458291/board/nest/99359346

I do want to see:

  • At least one Jedi as part of the main cast.

  • An ensemble cast with no real person you can point to and say "that's the star."

  • Some deaths of important now and then to raise the stakes.

  • A believable criminal element to the show.

  • Imperial characters who, unaware of the Empire's true nature, believe themselves to be the 'good guys' and actually act like Good Guys act.

  • Some rebel characters who aren't lantern jawed space cowboys.

  • Boba Fett.

  • Dogfighting every now and then.

  • A core starship that isn't derivative of the Millennium Falcon.

  • Corellia.

  • Darth Vader in at least one pivotal storyline somewhere in the series run (NOT all over).

  • More mature story lines.

  • Very, very, evil Imperials.

  • Very, very, good rebels.

  • Someone who would ordinarily be a bad guy on any other show cast by circumstance into the role of a good guy.

  • Not-so-evil Imperials.

  • Not-so-good rebels.

  • If there going to do a romance/sexual tension storyline, fine, but for god's sake make it believable!

  • Go back to the 'used universe' look without everything being shiny and spit-polished.

  • Non Hutt criminal cartels.

  • Secret Police in the vein of the SS or V for Vendetta's 'fingermen.'

  • Story continuity from one episode to the next.

  • MANDALORIANS, the heck with EU continuity.

  • Bossk or IG-88.

  • A good guy, cop like, bounty hunter. They can't all be evil dastardly mercs.

  • Good reasons why the Empire is a bad idea. OTHER than just the fact that the sith run things. The OT never really said what the empire was doing that was so wrong, and the PT just complicated that issue

  • I do NOT want to see:

  • Too many Jedi/Force users whatsoever, of either side of the force.

  • At least half the locations to be ones we have seen before.

  • baby Luke & Leia.

  • Teenage Han Solo.

  • Dogfighting every episode.

  • Gungans.

  • Cast members under the age of 14.

  • Lightsaber duels to occur too often.

  • Aliens that are 'cute' in any way.

  • Too much emphasis on conforming to anything EU.

  • 8 year old Mara Jade.

  • The Death Star.

  • Ewoks.

  • Characters always running around in the woods like Stargate-SG1.

  • Include star trek characters in any way (I.E. a droid trying to 'understand humans' etc...)
  •

I'd like to see another Chewie or R2 style sidekick, as in one that we can't totally understand. Gotta have a droid and an alien or two tag along.

    funny game

    I do want to see:

At least one Jedi as part of the main cast. me too!
An ensemble cast with no real person you can point to and say "that's the star." clearly you hit the nails, and i am really afraid that cable networks will push firmly to put a big name
Some rebel characters who aren't lantern jawed space cowboys. A core starship that isn't derivative of the Millennium Falcon. okay, this is redundant, we don't want a Han Solo-clone!

    Boba Fett.

    Aurra Sing?

    Nal Hutta

Darth Vader in the season-end cliffhanger

Someone who would ordinarily be a bad guy on any other show cast by circumstance into the role of a good guy. let's say Boba Fett

Go back to the 'used universe' look without everything being shiny and spit-polished. agree 100%

Non Hutt criminal cartels. AND hutt cartel wink

Story continuity from one episode to the next. that is the most important point to me. go back to serials.

2 or 3 Lightsaber duels by season, and so I hope Inquisitors will make it. or the Secret Aprrentice?

humor, starwars should not turn into something too dramatic, ROTS was an exception.

The Death Star. it is just under construction, this is a good way to show Tarkin.

I do NOT want to see:

talking heads, starwars is a visual show, not a socio-psychological suspense

baby Luke & Leia. Teenage Han Solo. 8 year old Mara Jade. yeah, horrible, not this, please

Cast members under the age of 14. why not, as background

Aliens that are 'cute' in any way. jawas are cute, i like them

Too much emphasis on conforming to anything EU. relax, this won't happen

    I do want to see:

Ian McDiarmid as Palpatine in at least 1 episode. If there are 100 episodes, I'd like to see him in 10.
Same with vader as voiced by JEJ.
A jedi from Dark Horse Comics who has not had their story touched since (Vos, Tholme, whomeever) in a recurring role but not a main character.
Some Imperial Senate shots with a recurring appearance by Jimmy Smits as Bail Organa as well as Mon Mothma and a little Garm Bel Iblis.
    Maybe some 3P0 and R2
Some planets we've heard about but never seen on film before.

I do not want to see:
Yavin IV, Kamino, Geonosis, Mustafar, Hoth, Endor or Bespin. Or any other place that every major event seems to center on. Use the underused planets.
Tatooine as the main setting. ENOUGH with that.
    Lots of jedi running around.
Too many bounty hunters or bounty hunters that may mess up EU Continuity.

    I do want to see:

    - Nar Shaddaa, the most fantastic location in the Star Wars universe, for the first time not in a game, but on film. Dark, dirty, sleazy Nar Shaddaa, covered in graffiti, with red light districts, lots of clubs with Twilek Dancers, Podraces, and Swoop Gang action. Nar would be a perfect place for a Jedi in hiding, he could even pass for a Bounty Hunter there.

    - Hutt lords other than Jabba, on other worlds, also, non-Hutt crime organizations like the 'Exchange' in KotOR, and a big commercial organization with dirty hands, something like Czerka.

    - Rivalling Bounty Hunters! I would love to see Bossk, or even better: IG-88 in action. Just Imagine a CG IG-88 kicking ass all over the place. He could be really, really scary. I would also like to see some new faces, Bounty Hunters we haven't seen yet.

    - One single fugitive Jedi in disguise. Not more. It'd be perfect if it would take us a long time to figure out if he or she is a Jedi.

    - A female action hero in a prominent role at some point. I always thought Lucas missed out on female Jedi in the PT. Sure, we have Aayla, Shaak-Ti, Luminara and Bariss, but we barely see them in action. I would have loved to see a female Jedi in an important duel. We won't be seeing lightsaber duels in the LAS, I think, but if we could have a female fugitive Jedi or some kickass female hunter - that would definitely rock. Star wars has too many masculine heroes already.

    - The effects of the new Imperial rule on the galaxy, in one way or another.

    - Stormies, lots of stormies, if only just marching by or chatting in some corner, just to remind us that the Empire is everywhere.

    - Some kind of evil droid as a villain. Something like 8T-88 from the Jedi Knight game or HK-47 from KotOR.

    - Podraces on different worlds! Different courses and environments!

    - Smugglers and space pirates in glorious action! Dogfighting, escaping Imperials, or making deals with them, or maybe even having a go at the Kessel run.

    - Rebels! Rebels! Rebels! The first rebels bases! Where would they be? Dantooine?

I do NOT want to see:

    - Tatooine. In the name of the Force! Enough already!

    - Yoda or Obiwan when they're on Tatooine/Dagobah

That's all that I can think of right now. I avoided some of the obvious points that others already stated.

I wouldn't mind a one-shot cameo of Obi-wan if a character is on Tatooine- like maybe a bounty hunter whose tracking a fugitive or another Jedi, is in a hurry through Mos Eisley, and happens to bump into a cloaked, bearded, figure in the crowd, who just says "Excuse me." as he moves along and the hunter continues his pursuit or towards where he's gotta be.

(or you could push it a little with "Sorry, you know what it's like- always on the move..." wink )

Not redundant at all. I was also referring to the Ebon Hawk (much as i like it) from KOTOR.

    DO want to see:
    - Imperials. Make the Empire's presence known.
    - Bail Organa and the foundations of the Rebel Alliance
    - If you must have a Jedi, which I'm sure the series must, have him/her have a limited role. Or, alternatively, have a Jedi be the focus of a subplot wherein Darth Vader hunts the fugitive down and kills him.
    - Cameos by Vader and Sidious at some point
    - Not adhering to established EU or, preferably, erasing EU.
    - Boba Fett not being portrayed as a hero. His flexible morals prevent that.

    DO NOT want to see:
    - Obi-Wan
    - Luke and Leia
    - Jedi in any strong number
    - Dark Jedi of any kind
    - Lightsaber fights all the time
    - Big battles all the time. Make this character driven. Think Rome.
    - Inquisitors or any mention thereof; Emperor's Hand, Eye, Voice, Reach, Nose, Left Foot. All of that is, frankly, dumb and should not be canon
    - Jabba the Hutt
    - The Secret Apprentice

    DO want to See:

    San Hill

Other Organizations using left over Confederacy Droids.

    DON'T want to see.

    Jar Jar Binks

    Mace Windu, he's dead.

I do think that the success of the KotoR games are because they immerse you into these underground worlds and gets you down and dirty with how this kind of universe works. I would love to see things like that in this Live Action series.

Before that ever happened Luke Skywalker, on some backwater hick planet, expressed his HATE for the empire. Why?

    This was before Alderaan.

Luke: Listen, I can't get involved. I've got work to do. It's not that I like the Empire; I hate it. But there's nothing I can do about it right now... It's all such a long way from here.
    Obi-Wan: That's your uncle talking.

    Why?
