Didn't hate Star Trek at all (at least the Kirk era stuff), but wasn't a big fan of it. The new film, as the posters above me have said, was amazing.

And that is why you wan't another Star Wars movie instead of a LAS?

You're misunderstanding me once again. In fact, this is basically the same question you asked me yesterday. I'll repeat my answer.

I do want there to be the live-action series, I just don't want TV to be the only future of Star Wars as George Lucas says it is.

Well, isn't this thread about the LIVE ACTION SHOW and not about any future Star Wars movie. GL not I said that he would choose the TV media. let's stick with that...

(I too would love another movie, but that's not the question here)

Interesting that now you're using the "GL said it" card. So when GL says there won't be more films, you accept that as fact. But when he says the LAS will be Jedi-free and that after the CW he doesn't want to tell any more stories around Anakin and Co, you feel he's bound to change his mind as he has before...

If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all.

Haven't you used that CARD against me countless times during our small discussion, all I get from you is, that I'm wrong... You haven't even once given your idea about what the LAS should be about.

I've tried to reason and answer the same question countless times, to no avail. Whenever I say that GL tend to change his mind, I'm being unreasonable. The LAS will be more or less Jedi free...YES we agree. But it has to have a beginning, don't say it already has that with the extended universe and countless books... GL doesn't care about the EU, he wants to tell a good story... On television not a movie...

What should that story be about?

Oh please.

What we're saying is is that YOU'RE simply giving your idea of what the LAS should be and completely unrealistically. Why would he give his idea of what it SHOULD be like?

The answer is that its absolutly pointless to debate this, cause the decision has already been made. Am I right, so cut the thread, please...

Good to see you've realized this. All we've been doing is going around in circles and the discussion has gone nowhere.

Uh, no I haven't. Not once have said that an argument is pointless because GL said something or other.

nett40 posted:

Uh, yes I have. In the appropriate thread (not this one) I've talked about what I would like to see in the LAS.

nett40 posted:

Take that as a clue of how poorly you're managing to answer such question.

nett40 posted:

No, the unreasonable part is basing you entire train of thought on the assumption that GL will change his mind, and whatever he's said bears no weight on the affairs and should be disregarded.

I'm not saying the beginning is in the EU. The beginning is in Prequel Trilogy and the CW series. What you're proposing is that even THAT is not enough, it all has to be retold yet again...

I thought I just agreed with your pal, Drewton, that we were going in circles. But maybe its not just me being bad at explaining things, it could be that I'm trying to explain physics to sheep... cry

I don't know what you've been talking about with this Drewton, and I didn't know he was my pal. Once again you go around generalising users, two people who disagree with you do not equate an organization with the same opinions and knowledge. And being patronizing towards your fellow posters isn't very good manners either.

According to this io9 article, they are looking for writers.
Article posted:
The show is assembling high-quality writers from the Aussie TV industry, including writers from the Love My Way and Secret Life of Us, who have been approached by Lucas' longtime producer Rick McCallum.

tf.net updated their link to the above article with the following:

tf.net posted:
"Currently, the favourite to be announced as one the TV series’ scribes is Australian TV producer and writer, John Edwards. If appointed, Edwards, who has been responsible for a clutch of successful domestic shows, including Out Of The Blue and Fireflies, will likely find himself under intense scrutiny from the most dedicated fanbase in the world."

Seems promising!

Part of me is frustrated that 4 years after ROTS we're only at this stage with the live action show. Maybe it's because I hate to see such slow activity on the boards and see it shrink year by year. I think it was clear that the clone wars cartoons were a different medium that wouldn't appeal to the majority of the fanbase.

Yet another part of me thinks that maybe it's a good thing that the live action show is taking so long to get started. Maybe time away from the franchise is just what the doctor ordered for many and 6 years after ROTS will be enough time for people to recharge their batteries on the genre.

But something tells me that one day I'll crack a smile to see a banner strung with new actors faces and new muppet characters.

Guys, knock off the little jabs, please. This thread is about current information on the LAS. Thanks, G_M.

Nice to see you, HLS. We've been discussing the shrinking of the boards, and I think it was really inevitable after the Saga was complete.

I used to mod 3NS and PT and I rarely post in there anymore. LACWAC has taken up my time, and it's nice to get new material each week, but this forum has slowed down a bunch in the summer with no real news to play with.

I have a feeling the LAS could be huge, and I agree with you that the delay will only help things. It honestly was Star Wars overload for a while, and I'm hoping since the LAS is supposed to be more adult-focused, we won't have the crazy marketing cross-overs that get so annoying.

If it's something that is initially met with cynicism and then wins over the public, like the revamped Battlestar Galactica, I'd be happy with it.
