Well, if they could get some of the directors from BSG on the show, and maybe a Glenn A. Larson and Ronald D. Moore, maybe David Milch from Deadwood as scriptdoctors, put it on FX or HBO, it'll be a good show. If GL wants to write them all, these are the TV guys to help.

I have a feeling more is happening than what they're telling us over at Lucasfilm.

Ron Moore would be an excellent show runner. He did a few of the Star Trek shows, and he obviously did a great job with Battlestar. That being said, keep Glenn Larson away from it! lol He's only credited in this BSG because he created the old BSG. If you think George's stuff is a little cheesy at times, Larson is like dumping a jar of Cheese Whiz on top.

Very random, but maybe they will announce something about the LAS at Comic-Con this week? The reason I say this is because on the official site when you first go there, there's a profile shot of Boba Fett before the other photos load-up. Maybe it's a nod and a wink to who the LAS is going to contain.

Just goofy and fun specualation.

You might actually have something there. I mean, for a looong while that main picture on the official website has been from The Clone Wars... Now, out of the blue, comes a photo of Boba. It does add up, considering the only image we've ever had attached to the LAS was Mr. Fett.

Yep, I was thinking that too. Rick McCallum pretty confirmed a while ago that the series will feature him, but will he be played by Daniel Logan or someone else?

I was watching E3 coverage on G4 about a month ago and after they premiered the trailer for The Old Republic MMO one of the hosts of Attack of the Show and several others at E3, were told there will be a HUGE Star Wars official announcement at Comic-Con 2009, in San Diego. It is in three weeks and I have tickets, one of them is Friday, which is Star Wars day every year at Comic-Con, so it's a good bet the big announcement will be at the Lucasfilm panel on Friday. I really do think it's going to be the live-action series. I know for a fact from multiple sources that writing is happening and it is being developed. They said it will be a huge and significant announcement, and doesn't have to do with the Clone Wars animated series as they already have stuff there about season 2. And it isn't The Old Republic I'm sure, as the announcement for that was E3 and they(even The Old Republic developers) specifically said that it was a major Star Wars announcement, not an Old Republic announcement.

I'm pretty confident it has something to do with the live-action series.

I'll post anything I find there be it video or photos here when I'm in San Diego!

^ I believe it's going to be the same thing. The series has definately been moving forward behind closed doors so I'm expecting some sort of announcement at any time now. Also has anyone else noticed how a picture of Bobba Fett has been on starwars.com for the last few days rather than a clone wars rendering? It might be nothing but it would be great if it was a hint! grin

I'm glad we're all on the same hint page. I just hope that they say it's happening sooner rather than later (if they say anything about it at all)...

I just checked the last page. Whoops... blush That'll teach me for thinking I'm a quick witted Star Wars fan! laugh It's certainly going to be an interesting week though as ever since the first publicity image (The one which had our first glimpse of Clone Wars Yoda on it) Boba Fett has been used to generate the hype. Most interesting of all is when you look back to that image I believe 2009 was meant to be a big year for the LAS. thinking

Sam Witwer mentioned on a podcast a few months back that he bumped into one of the writers for the new live action show (he wouldn't say who it was) at Skywalker Ranch, and that he was very excited by who it was. He also said it was someone who had "revolutionised a genre" on TV.

Given that other than his work on The Force Unleashed, Sam was in a season of Battlestar Galactica, I'm leaning toward it being one of the of writers - possibly even Ron D Moore himself(although perhaps he is too busy with other things).

and yet... still nothing. The Star Wars: In Concert was an awesome announcement. But... we are still waiting on this loch ness monster of a "live action series". I wonder what the delay is... we have been hearing about writing and casting and whatnot for years now.

Well, we know we're a few years off and we know what's happening in 2010- Celebration V. That's when they're going to make big announcements about that. If I remember correctly (and according to Wookieepedia), George announced the Clone Wars series at CIII. We all remember the big news coming from CIV was all the news about the CW and especially the trailer. I don't expect a trailer, but I expect that we'll hear who the show runner is, what the premise is, as well as some concept art, perhaps even some of the main cast. Until then, they're going to lay low. The have nothing at all to gain by releasing info now instead of next summer.
