I wouldn't be surprised if the droid duo made cameo appearances, or even Darth Vader. I remember reading somewhere a while back that that was the plan. We'll have to wait to see though!

I remember reading the opposite, but Lucas makes so many bass ackward statements that it wouldn't suprise me we BOTH read opposite stuff.

GL did say "no major characters", but you never know. I heard it will be about a rogue Jedi searching for others while trying to avoid the Empire.

Very awesome news!

"There will be appearances by Obi Wan Kenobi and at least one other Jedi - Quinlan Vos, who never made an appearance in any of the prequels, but is a well known character in Star Wars universe graphic novels. It is unknown if Ewan McGregor will be the one to don the beard and cloak again to reprise his role of Obi Wan from the Prequel movies, but it seems unlikely since he has not been contacted to play the part. Boba Fett will also be a recurring character and Daniel Logan who played the young Boba Fett in Attack of the Clones is being considered to play the adult Boba."

Starts filming this year? That seems very optimistic with no definitive casting locked yet- even if the sets are mostly bluescreen.

However, if this article is true, the best part, Imo is:

the primary characters will not be Jedi but ordinary beings from the Star Wars universe whose roles are usually overshadowed by the pivotal Jedi characters in all of the six movies.

Okay, Obi-Wan is a huge surprise. What is he going to do, sit around Mos Eisley?

Also, no one mentioned this:

Lucas plans on writing the first season and will then hand it off to a worthy successor, at this time it is unclear who that will be. Not only will there be one Star Wars television show for fans to relish, but eventually there will be several with plots that connect all of them together and tell the story of the dark times mentioned by Obi Wan in the first Star Wars movie ever made, A New Hope.

Sounds cool, though I can hold out hope for a Vader cameo, at least.

Obi-Wan would be a very hard character to write for, though I do recall reading somewhere that McGregor was interested in returning to the role, but that was probably some spur of the moment thing he said then, a couple years ago, and who knows if the offer would hold up a year from now.

Personally, I'd rather see more of the start of the rebellion, and the acquiring of the Death Star plans (Kyle Katarn or no, even though his backstory is interesting). The entire sequence of how Leia came into possession of the plans (as heard in the radio series) makes for a good story, too.

Quinlan Vos was also in Episode 1, though in the utmost of "blink and you'll miss it" appearances.

I'm starting to watch the Star Wars DVDs again tomorrow. When does Quinlan Vos appear in TPM?

Yeah, I'm with you. Except for the Obi-Wan bit, this all seems like the rumors and speculation we have been hearing over the last few years with nothing new.

McCallum talked about multiple connected smaller series last year.

Someone other than Ewan as Obi-Wan? sorry, but i really dislike that idea sad i really hope that's false. If Obi-Wan's on, i wouldnt want anyone but Ewan playing him.

I think you'd get used to it.

We've now had 2 different actors playing Obi-Wan in the films, as well as James Arnold Taylor portraying him in the TCW cartoon, and I can handle the different variations. happy

If you think about it, a show like Doctor Who has had many different incarnations, many actors have played Sherlock Holmes, et cetera.

Examiner.com is a user-generated blogging site. The aforementioned article cites no sources and is only a opinion piece. We know from recent statements earlier this year by Steve Sansweet that the LAS is in the pre-production phase with pre-production art and some of the first season's scripts completed.

Quinlan Vos has been speculated to appear in the LAS since the character was removed from ROTS. However Lucas said that there will be no Jedi, Stormtroopers, or Skywalkers, and that the series will focus on background characters such as Bounty Hunters. McCallum did not rule out a Vader appearance during the ratings period.

Personally I don't think Obi-Wan will be in there at all. I think Lucas will completely stay away from the Skywalkers (maybe, just maybe we'll get a Darth Vader cameo at some point) and the entire focus will be on small charcters like Boba Fett, maybe Bail Organa and new characters.

I fully expect R2 and 3PO to be involved somewhere along the line as well, because theres a tradition of having the droids in all Star Wars projects, which I think Lucas will find a way of sticking to, even if its only an episode or two.
