jedi-soon - don't worry, Anthony Daniels is definitely voicing Threepio for the series. It really is his life's work. happy

With respect to the hug, a couple of points:

(1) While it was nice to see, it was again a little more OT to me. This wasn't the Jedi we were used to seeing in the PT, very stately and reserved. Not that it was out of place for the situation at all, just didn't jive with what we had seen in TPM and AOTC.

(2) It kinda bugged me when Ahsoka said Plo Koon was "one of her oldest friends". He's a honest-to-Go Jedi Master and Council Master, and I would have preferred the use of "teacher" or something. It's very presumptuous of Ahsoka, and again, un-Jedi-like behaviour.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. It fits, and I would be very excited to see some episodes talk about how the war is tearing the Jedi apart (a la Shatterpoint). Something about how the Jedi unfortunately learned some lessons too late.

Something interesting I noticed: During that scene where Dooku cryptically tells Grievous that he's going to speak to Sidious about the General's failure, Grievous doesn't destroy any of the droids. It's the perfect time for him to do it; you can see the droids all expect it, as well as the audience. But he doesn't go through with it. There's a weird parallel going on there.

And I think that's the first time we've seen a more "human" side to his personality (maybe "human"'s the wrong term here, but you get my drift).

hahaha, that's funny -- I thought Starship Troopers too!!! That's funny you said that. I was wondering if I was the only one. I love that, though, and I love Starship Troopers, I think it's one of the greatest sci-fi films of all time easily. The campy satire is just fantastic, and the effects still hold up amazingly well (just got it on Blu-ray, looks fantastic!).

So apparently this episode was the first part of a three part arc (obviously centering around this ion cannon weapon), because the next episodes are called "Shadow of Malevolence" and "Destroy Malevolence". That is pretty cool and I hope they do more "arcs" like that in future episodes. applause

I actually wasn't too crazy about Plo Koon's voice (it's the same guy who does Obi-Wan)....oh well.

Yeah...I was expecting something different...maybe something that sounded a bit more mechanical or something...

Loved this episode, some great suspense, particularly when the pod crusher was searching for Plo Koon's Pod. As has already been said, the droid humour was fantastic. "Let's break ths can open". This eries is going to everything we all hoped for. Its going to be a great 100 episodes. Bring on next week!!!

Well, I don't know about that, but it was crazy fun blasting bugs left and right and ripping troopers apart(it was a Verhoeven flick, after all. tongue )

And as to Grievous not destroying a droid, I don't think they want him doing that at the end of every episode(although like you I was expecting him to thrash one...maybe Dooku's admonishment at his failure shocked him into non-action.)

Great show, out of the two eps, this one was my favourite.

The stuff with Plo Koon and the troopers drifting in the wreckage, seeing pods littered with dead clones and knowing they're next, man, that was pretty intense.

I really, genuinely, like Ahsoka. She's cute. Her interaction with Anakin is great, really makes me see Anakin in a new light.

And oh, the quotes at the beginning of each show are a great touch.

Me too. I already liked her in the movie. Anakin and her have more chemistry than Anakin-Padmé in the PT.
There was one scene on Tatooine where Ahsoka and Anakin are looking deeply in each others eyes and I thought...kiss her!

I think the story arc episodes work better than the one shots.

Looking forward to the next episodes...

I wonder if he used the force to keep himself shielded in space or was it is species that has some unique ability to withstand a vacuum?

Hmmmm, either way, it was cool how he used the force with the clones to put them in position, etc. to fight off the droid attack.

I really like how mature Anakin is in this. Someone mentioned above that they think Ahsoka will die at the end of the show's run. If so, her death would only strengthen Anakin's resolve not to let anyone else that he loves die. We saw how he wouldn't abandon Obi-Wan and the lengths he went to to save Padme in ROTS. And you know he will end up loving Ahsoka (if he doesn't already) because he can't help forming attachments to the people in his life.

I haven't seen the feature film because I don't like the animation style but decided to give the tv show a try. Maybe I'll rent it when it comes to DVD.

It would be interesting if Ahsoka started to love Anakin and Anakin loved her. As for this episode, it was fantastic. Definitely a dark episode with dark humor( droid humming a tune while sending clones flying to their deaths. That's just cold). I'm liking Plo Koon's character. He is proving to be a very caring and brave Jedi. The Ahsoka/Anakin interaction was cool too and it's nice to see their bond grow. This series is redeeming Anakin's character in many ways. While I did like this episode, the Yoda one was still the best imo.

8/10
