I wish you would stop referring to Robotech. Because it's japanese, the japanese animated shows have a tradition of killing off main characters. The american made cartoons are a little bit more skitish on the subject, even when they are willing to kill minor characters.

Though really my theory is that Rex will defy order 66 and save Ashoka but wind up dying in the process. Which would give her a chance to face Vader later on and maybe die then.

i don't think rex is mentioned in ep 3.

i only recall cody, oddball and bly.

not 100% on bly though

i tell you people - get used to to anakin's padean because she will survive order 66 and ashoka tano will be the 'recurring Jedi guest star' in the live action series

i'd put money on it

I'm not *that* sure, but it does bear mentioning that some of the same fans who aren't big on the spunky 14-year old padawan might be *very* interested in her as a 20-year old, war-seasoned Jedi on the run-- sort of a SW Sarah Connor, or post-war Anakin-if-he-hadn't turned. Bitter, maybe having lost a limb or two, hell-bent on getting back at the Empire, maybe trying to train a padawan of her own.

I expect the LAS will be an ensemble thing like a lot of 1 hour dramas, with an ensemble of 6 -10 main protagonists. In that context, Ahsoka and Boba Fett are pretty good candidates... throw in some smugglers, early rebels, maybe some jaded clone veterans, and you're on your way.

She doesn't need to die, she can be presummed dead...somehow.

I'm getting to attached with these chracters...

Actually she does need to die. And Anakin has to be the one to kill her. It completes his severing of his ties to the light side and further his descent into evil. That would be bad donkey (lol) character development. Remember that many a fallen Jedi either kill/attempt to kill their masters or kill their padawans.

perhaps but that would still require that she survives order 66 and therefore this series

in regards to 'further his descent into evil' - anakin murdered children in ep 3 - you can't get lower than that

But Ahsoka has proven herself before. She did great with the second attack because she followed orders. Ahsoka is still learning.

Right now, I'm sticking with the theory that Ahsoka will die at one point, probably while on a mission with Anakin, and it will be in a similar fashion to how Anakin's mother died. This will make Palpatine's suggestions in the opera house, that Anakin could learn to stop someone from dying, make even more sense.

Agreed. Ahsoka's death in the Clone Wars would appropriately feed Anakin's fear of death and loss, which is what leads him to the dark side. Yoda said that he feared Anakin might not be able to let go of Ahsoka, which is strong forshadowing.

It would be appropriate for Sideous to have his hand directly in Ahsoka's downfall. I could see "Palpatine" placing Padme in peril on a diplomatic mission as a diversion, thus luring Anakin away from the inexperienced Ahsoka. Ahsoka would be left to complete what is thought to be a mundane mission alone. She will be full of her patented over confidence in spite of Anakin's reservations. Of course it would be a trap for the padawan Ahsoka orchestrated by the Sith with Anakin away rescuing Padme. Anakin will get word of the trap and arrive too late only to have Ahsoka die in his arms as Padme looks on in horror. "No. Don't die on me. No. Not again." The final scene of that episode is Anakin looking up from a dead Ahsoka and into Padme's eyes as he shouts ala the ROTS Frankenstein "Noooooo!". The disturbance in the force would cause their ship to break apart and an earth quake of sorts.

Who would be the appropriate assassin is debateable between Dooku, Ventress, and Greivous. I personally think that Ventress is the clear choice to take out Ahsoka. Sideous told Dooku in the 2003 Clone War TV series that her mission is to go after Skywalker to facilitate the eradication of the Jedi.

Skywalker would then begin his first hunt-to-kill mission, against the Order's wishes I might add, with Ventress. That takes care of Ventress. (This would forshadow hunting down the Jedi just as slaughtering the Sand People forshadowed the Younglings' murder in the Jedi Temple.)

This links everything up nicely with no loose ends. Fait accompli.

The only problem with all this is it is way too dark and evil for what is a children's program. I already find some of the material a little rough for my little ones when we watch it. We currently don't let them watch parts of ROTS and AOTC, which the above story line would parallel.

you could be right Plo

but perhaps Anakin never gets his revenge because Obi-Wan gets to Asoka's killer first - therefore delaying Anakin's fall a bit longer

I was thinking about this the other day and I think that sometime soon, George will re-release Episodes 1 - 3 (hopefully on the cinima, but probably on DVD) with some changes like with the original series. Im guessing things like the deleted scene with Yoda landing on Degobah in ep 3 will be put in.

Well it would be cool if there was a new scene made with Ahsoka being killed off and added to the montage of Jedi deaths during order 66. Im sure it wouldnt be too hard to do, dress some girl up like Ahsoka and use CGI?

The "Optimus Prime" issue aside, to be honest, I don't see Ashoka being killed off in the Clone Wars. However, I do see her being separated from Anakin in some way.

Perhaps the Council removes her from Anakin's instruction and she becomes another Jedi's Padawan sometime before EpIII. That would solve the problem nicely and reinforce Anakins rift with Mace and the Jedi council. Then she could have whatever fate you want her to have in the EU.

Personally, I would have loved to see her face off against Starkiller. Anakin's two apprentices in a duel to the death! You have to admit, it does have some poetry to it.

The whole point to Anakin having a padawan is so he can learn to overcome his attachment issues. There needs to be some sort of closure to this otherwise there's little point to the story arc. Therefore, having Ahsoka alive and well by ROTS would be v surprising. Perhaps he even holds the Jedi responsible for her demise?

One scenario I can imagine would be some kind of disupute between Anakin and Ashoka, which crumbles their friendship.
Perhaps Ashoka wants to tell the council about Padmé and Anakin forces Ashoka in some kind of Exile...

Whatever...I really hope that there will be an episode about Ashoka discussing this close relationship between Anakin and Padmé. Ashoka should know about it since the Blue Shadow Virus Duology.
