Yeah, looks like no "Decoded" onscreen info, but the restored 2.35:1 aspect ratio and the director's cuts of the "Ryloth Trilogy" alone are gonna make waiting for the Blu-Ray worth it. It was pretty much assumed that LFL would be releasing the series in this aspect framing, but we finally have confirmation -- the previous 3-4 episode DVDs were in the cropped 1.78:1 television ratio, from what I recall reading.

I predictably hope we get more Plo Koon in the directors' cut episodes. It would assuredly be wishful thinking to hope they throw in 'Plo Koon fights Grievous IN SPACE', but hey, a little more character and fighting is always good, right? XD

Oh absolutely! You want more Plo and I want more Grievous, so hopefully we both get what we want tongue ...and I take it by the description of the aspect ratio that these will be like a widescreen format? grin

Yes, it should be the nice widescreen format that we got in the UK High-Def broadcast.

I know several people who would implode from glee at the idea of more Plo Koon.

I myself would love more Grievous. I guess it's a shame he didn't appear in more S1 episodes, but given he got a really big push in the first 11-odd episodes, I can deal.

I just wish there was a director's cut for 'Hostage Crisis'. ;(

Well that's ruddy perfect. Digital is a really expensive add on to an already ludicrous annual TV license in the UK so I have been waiting a year to watch TCW on a decent TV rather than a tiny youtube screen that blurs up when the action gets fast and furious. And it turns out that the features that have been holding the box set release back all this time have been struck from the DVD release! angry Sure I will still get the Directors Cut episodes and the hopefully stunning companion booklet but as someone who has a DVD player that upscales to Blue-Ray quality I can't justify the extra expense. Grrrr...

I feel sorry for you man, upconverted DVD was good enough for me for awhile, but once I got a PS3 and my first Blu-Ray disc, I couldn't believe the difference. Everything is so eye-popping, its unreal.

At least we're all going to be getting the episodes in their full 2.35:1 aspect ratio!

I'm not trying to bash the HD experience here, I have been blown away by tests runs of Wall-E in my local mall and am astonished at the clarity my 360 provides when running on a HDMI cable. But I also live in a low income family and HD movies cost a lot of moolah. Around double that of DVDs in fact. So to find that I have to suffer because I can't afford it is a bit unfair in my eyes.

Well, since it relates to season 1, I'm curious as to whether or not we'll get a season 1 soundtrack.

Something just occured to me, I wonder if the box set will use plastic of cardboard packaging. I mean although cardboard is more enviromentaly friendly than plastic the card on my OT box set is looking terrible through all the wear and tear it has suffered over the years. frustrated After all, those DVDs have been in an out of there like like yo-yos. And I find it hard to believe that I'm the only one is such a situation. I just hope it's a big plastic DVD case so I can avoid such deteriation in future.

I'm really hoping that the decoded stuff was just overlooked in the product description, because, as long as it is an optional commentary-like feature, I'd love to see it, however silly or redundant some of it is. I haven't had access to Cartoon Network for months and was out of the US so haven't been able to watch any of the decoded episodes except the first one. I think not including that on the DVD would be a very poor judgment call by whoever is in charge of the production of them. The rest of the information, however, looks absolutely awesome! Widescreen and extended episodes...wow.
