... The "noble era or civilized era" ended with the slaughter of the Jedis and the declaration of the EMPIRE at the end of ROTS, the Prequel Trilogy is all about that, how the Jedi fell from grace and how Palpatine was able to transform a peace loving gentle civilization into an ugly WAR MACHINE.

You want more of THAT, but I thought you were against that period. The slow decay... thinking

True, but we don't go much into detail of how much the way of life changed for people, I think that is what the LAS is supposed to address.

And why is it then? That you with great conviction, is so much against my idea of starting the show/series with an re-edited version of the PT movies. In doing so you would get the only opportunity to address these details much better.

The 3 movies of the PT could be cut into 8 or 12 TV-episodes, out of a total of 20 or 22 TV-episodes in the 1st Season, depending on the length of the TV-episodes, of course.

Not really, in fact your idea is completely unnecessary and wouldn't sell because the majority of people have seen it. PT was about Anakin and his story is over, The Dark Times is more about the changing of the guard and later on the early stages of the Rebellion and the Galactic Civil War. You really don't need to waste money on rediting the PT to make the story fit.
10 or more of the episodes in the 1st Season, that's half, would be brand new. You are perectly satisfied with the fast forward end of ROTS and the long period of nothingness (is that a word?) between TPM and AOTC.

Maybe, I'm just the only one who was a tinsy-bit disappointed with the Prequels? The Old Trilogy was re-done to fit, why not the new one???
You do know the LAS takes directly after ROTS, so it is not like we are skipping years.

Sorry, I misread your last post. But still you really don't need to edit the PT to make it flow in with the LAS, maybe you want because you weren't satisfy, but from a business stand point it is complete pointless.

Yes, why make millions, on something you already made before. That would be just as rediculous, as re-releasing different versions of the Old Trilogy, twice within a short number of years. Such an adventure would have cost Lucas Film millions of dollars, and no one would ever go see a re-released version of Star Wars, never. silly

What ever was I thinking. money_eyes

But back to topic, I hope that Vader and the Emperor will be in the LAS.

I've found this on the net:

http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2009/03/09/exclusive-star-wars-live-action-tv-series-casting-underway/

According to Lucas, the show will focus on minor characters from the saga and be set in the time period between “Revenge of the Sith” (Episode III) and the original “Star Wars” (Episode IV). The action will follow the Rebel Alliance as it slowly gains strength against the Empire. There will be Stormtroopers, but no Jedi or Darth Vader will appear on screen. As he did with the “Clone Wars” series, Lucas will write and shoot an entire year’s worth of episodes before looking for a cable channel on which to air the series.

So, we finally agree on something the seeds of the Rebellion should be adressed in LAS.

Uh, since my very first post detailing what I would like to see in the LAS I've said that I expect to see the seeds of rebellion. I just don't want to see the Rebel Alliance fighting the Empire head on like we saw in the Classic Trilogy. What I want to see is local resistance fighters trying to undermine the Empire's grip, being crushed swiftly but somehow persevering. I'd like to see Bel Iblis and a band of Corellian militia joining up with some pirate gang to plunder Imperial convoys, Mon Mothma recruiting a smuggler's ship to ferry out some wookiee slaves from an Imperial facility, Bail Organa grudgingly relying on a bounty hunter to rescue his daughter from some slimy crimelord, and I'd like to see some new characters doing things I haven't even considered. So, you see, the "shady underbelly with gray morals" scenario can fit very well with stories showcasing how people first started to lash back at the Empire in whatever way they can.

Boy, oh boy... You like Vader, I like Vader, we all like Vader. But there's more to Star Wars than the guy in black. I think it would be a pity if the LAS didn't use Vader in whatever small capacity, but that certainly won't take away my enjoyment of the show if it's well written and plain bloody fun. You must learn to let go of the things you fear to lose...

Depending on how long the series runs for, I would expect to see Vader crop up at least once -- maybe in the series finale.

This is an imaginary story... aren't they all supposed to fit together, though?
An animated cartoon about Obi-Wan and Padawan Anakin would have made more sense.

I agree that JEJ (and only JEJ) should do the voice of Vader if he's in the series. And I'm actually hoping we will see the birth of the rebellion (even add those deleted ROTS scenes with Bail, Padmé and Mon). If this happens right after ROTS then the birth of the Rebellion must be included. You can't escape it. And if that is the case then they must have Jimmy Smits back, right?

What is the latest news on the series? I haven't seen any news in a long time. When is it expected to make its debut. Next year?

I am totally against seeing Han and Luke "The Teen Years" on the new LAS. To have a story arc where Han and Chewie meet and escape the Imperials is a desire I have that is strong. Fett and Solo obviously go back a bit. So, if it is not a 'stunt', then let them meet. I do not want to see a '90210' thing. PLEASE GOD NOOOO!!!! Just saying, is all. However, I would love to see Lando at some point.
To have Darth Vader, voiced by James Earl Jones and Tarkin(I would call him minor/Major) together would be sweet. And Palpatine would be awesome too.
But to NOT have Anthony Daniels would be IMHO toxic. He's been in every incarnation of Star Wars. Not just movies and TV but conventions, audio stuff, museum tours, you name it. Dare I say he is the ambassador of the GFFA.
I think, in ways, Lucas is making a big mistake in not doing an anthology series, or something similar.
Jedi, Bounty Hunters, Darth Vader, Palpatine, Mon Mothma, Akbar, Dodonna, Madine, Biggs(perfect cameo for young Luke, Owen, and Beru), there are to many great storylines to see.
I'd be a bit weary of seeing the 'majors' as minor background charactors. 'oh, there is luke walking by in the background' type thing. A few weeks of The Death Star building. A few weeks of the Rebel Alliance forming. Jedi who escaped Order 66. It could be good stuff.
Any story on the genesis of the Empire HAS to have Palpatine and Vader. It would, I think be doing a grave disservice to not include them.

Just my $.02.

I know that if Vader is mentioned, Starkiller should be mentioned as well. imo.

Unless Starkiller actually turns up in the show (which would be nice - Sam Witwer is an excellent actor), I doubt he'll be mentioned. He's supposed to be a huge secret who leave absolutely no witnesses alive.
