I think this series should be about the Imperial Civil War with the NR and all kind of imp and nonimperial factions.

I say Galactic Civil War so that we can get some even heroism beyond the movies for Luke, Leia and Han for the new generation to latch onto.

I'd also like to add that a Galactic Heroes series probably wouldn't be completely out of the question or unrealistic, because Marvel is coming out with a Super Hero Squad action-comedy cartoon and the Super Hero Squad is the Marvel equivalent of Galactic Heroes. However, I don't think a network would want to have two such shows at the same time.

Im hopeing that it will be based of the OT. With some of the original actors reprising the cvharacters. Surley Mark Hamill would do it as he is now into voice acting.

What I'm getting from all of this is that George is making a second Star Wars animated series and that it will probably be that rumored Galactic Heroes show.

Now I don't think it would be too bad if done right: they should make little vignettes set all over the Star Wars universe with characters from the entire saga.

It would be a little like an animated Star Wars Tales, they wouldn't have to be canon, but they would fit in just fine.

I do hope it's not the "Star Wars for Toddlers" rumor we've heard, although that sounds quite likely... If they do that, however, I hope they go all out so I can completely ignore the whole thing. It would be terrible if there were some great concepts and characters sprinkled around an otherwise Teletubbies-level show.

If they do that, Star Wars is officially dead to me. Especially with how great Star Trek is right now. It would just be a joke.

Not that Star Wars is *cough* *wheeze* *cough* too much different right now.

This is what Star Wars should be right now. It's unfortunate neither are on the big or even small screens.

Well said! applause I do enjoy The Clone Wars but I'm getting tired of hearing people say that Star Wars should be for kids. Screw that! It's such a shame that neither of those are getting any kind of big screen or small screen treatment.

wow this place has gone to hell. That's not Steve Sansweet's entire statement.

Steve Sansweet said this: “You don’t build two animation studios and just do one series. You have other things in mind, NOT NECESSARILY STAR WARS"

You can listen to Sansweet speak for yourself here: TFN's ForceCast.net

No thank you to either of those; TOR does little more than combine OT elements with tons of Jedi and Sith without introducing anything truely original to the SW franchise, while TFU is about some superpowered, no-personality brat who only works as an avatar for video gamers and not a compelling character that will be likeble on the silver or small screen. Since even my own mother enjoys the CWAS (and she watches way more sci-fi and fantasy shows than I do), I fail to understand claims about how the show can only appeal to kids.

Yeah, TOR and TFU are okay as video games, but beyond that, there's very little of interest, not enough for a TV show.

I'm actually getting tired of two things. 1) This whole adolescent idea that EVERYTHING in Star Wars has to be "Bad a$$" like the KOTOR Online trailer supposedly is. 2) That EVERYTHING Star Wars has to be made for your (the royal your) consumption.

I think everyone here should be ecstatic that they will be making a Star Wars for the young kids to watch. That will allow the Clone Wars to focus more on an adult audience....that's us. You can't have a show that pleases everyone, so you make a Star Wars babies AND a "Badd a$$" Clone Wars.

While I'm not sure where this line of thought will take us, I'm gonna agree with you outright. tongue
To be fair, though, I would say that both TCW and TOR have surprising amounts of hard work put into them (stories, plots, character development, fine tuning it, animation, environments, research, voice acting, etc.), and will both likely be remembered as excellent pieces of work. Whether said hard work meets your standards, tastes, or definitions is a matter of personal preference.

Well, look at it this way. If the program is mature and awesome (meaning it has good stories and action which are handled beautifully, NOT that it's just 'dark and edgy and bad@$$'), then all the better. We've got two quality programs, and will better appreciate the more polished one.

If it's not, and turns out to be made-for-kids, well...is that so bad? I'm sure it'd protect TCW from going too far down that road while opening up possibilities for growth. Does it honestly sound like good marketing to make something that's for children in preschool and then subsequently dumb down the main franchise? Wouldn't that be narrowing your demographic substantially, which is BAD for numbers? tongue

The irony of all this is TCW has a better feel of Star Wars in general then ethier the TFU and KOTOR.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but how does a guy called Jason who does podcast know what George Lucas is planning??

We can all guess. having a podcast doesn't make it any more valid.
