Okay I think it's safe to say that in many people's eyes season one of TCW was a success. As you probably know I enjoyed nearly every second of the show so far and can't wait for new episodes. But if there is one thing I honestly can't stand it's the music. It's very glossy and professional to begin with, I'll even go as far as to say I enjoy the opening theme remix, but just like a cheap Chinese rolex knock off the flaws start to show pretty fast.

It can be overtly cheesy at sometimes and at others it plays like something you would expect at a late night rave. And the rest of the time the soundtrack plays like a cheap , plasticy rip-off of John Williams' epic Star Wars scores. My dissapointment is enhanced even more when it's the film soundtracks being used to advertise the show, it raises my expectations to something that hasn't been reached.

If there is one thing that needs improving it is the music, IMO of course. So I was wondering if any like minded fans had thoughts on how the soundtrack could be improved while remaining within the constraints of tv budgets.

Yes, if I was in charge, I'd get Mark Griskey in to do the music. His stuff for The Force Unleashed was absolutely excellent. It really sounds like John Williams' work, which is the best compliment I can give to a composer playing in the SW sandbox. Kiner's stuff sounds like synth video game music. That is the one disappointment I have with this series. It's just not epic. I really, really hope they can get Griskey in for the live action series.

I recall some episodes (Bombad Jedi springs to mind) having some decent music in them, while others (mostly the early produced ones) had themes that seemed really out of place (electric guitars anyone?).

I was not overly bothered by the music for the most part, but hopefully it will improve for the second season.

I think Mark Grisky would be a bit too expensive, he works on big budget video games which has similar pay to that of a blockbuster film composer.

I'm going to refer to my good old trusty Doctor Who comparison here. (I know, how imaginative. rolling_eyes tongue ) Murray Gold is a fantastic composer who also has learnt quite a bit recently. Season 4 of Doctor Who has provided some absolute corkers of soundtracks and there are two that I think shows what this guy can bring to the Clone Wars. Look up The Dark and Endless Dalek Night and A pressing Need to Save the World. Right off the bat you can tell the guy is a good substitute for JW.
