It was a very good film. The fight scenes were elaborate and fast-paced, as were the chase scenes.
The story was unpredictable, which was good.
All of the cast did very well, it was quite funny in parts also.

Caught a sneak preview of WALL-E last night - absolutely wonderful! Pixar has done it again - the trailers don't really give the main story away at all. And the animated short before the film will have you in stitches! So funny!

It was truly magical!! Way to go Ben Burtt applause

we went to see wanted last night, and i was glad to see a main character who didn't go swanning around in a long black trenchcoat trying to be all moody and etc.

i'm bored with morgan freeman now,though...
he does the same old shtick.

But he's great at it.

Sean Connery did foreign roles in a Scottish accent, but he was awesome in roles anyway.

He's my number 2 non-favourite actor. whistling Morgan Freeman at least has a warm disposition to his face not that wooden blank of Connery's.

Have you watched the Last Crusade?

Freeman is a better actor then Connery is, but they're both legends.

Sean Connery has a great screen presence. And I have no issue with Morgan Freeman.... now, now Jamie, to say such a thing when The Dark Knight is soooooooo close wink

I saw Kung Fu Panda today and that's also a great film. Really good animation, character design, rendering and a very nice story which while is predictable and maybe even cliché, it works and that's good enough for me. Highly recommend it for the young and old. If you're into your martial arts then you'll love it.

Great stuff.

Came back from Wanted and while it's not awesome it's definitely stunning. Good story too. James McAvoy is still looking good batting and I think I quite like his acting. Children of Dune anyone?

Angelina Jolie was fun and I agree that Morgan Freeman is great but doing the same old stuff... I'm glad it was rated 18 so the viewing went without the usual background noise. Anyway, I wouldn't mind seeing it again, but I think we'll be seeing Kungfu Panda tomorrow.

I just lamented that considering not many movies grabbed my attention in the last cca 2 years this summer is filled with great offers.

Prince Caspian may be fun but The Forgotten Kingdom posters are out and loud and I'm really, really hoping I'll get to see it before I leave the country on the 10th. praying

The Mummy and The Dark Knight will be on offering when I come back.

Saw Kungfu Panda which was awesomely funny at some places so we came out with a pretty good feel-good factor afterwards. My favourite scene is the train-to-fight-for-food one. My tears were streaming down my face because of laughter.

But guess what trailer I saw?

Clone Wars!!!
After seeing the Lucasfilm logo and the first few notes of the Binary Sunset team I practically melted into the seat and ... and that's it.

The last time this happened was when we went to see some movie with my auntie and they showed a Phantom Menace trailer. After those few seconds I completely forgot what movie we actually went to see. grin This was pretty much the same experience. I had to be washed up. laugh

I'm looking forward to Wall·E too, Yrol. I've heard rave reviews from the States, but two of my managers whom have seen it said it was boring. I think I'm going to like it though wink

I saw Hancock last week and thought it was good. General response from work has been disappointment though.

Three weeks to go until The Dark Knight!!!! grin I have my IMAX tickets booked for Tuesday 29th, so I'll give final judgement then, although I'll probably catch the 35mm print before-hand.

I purchased There Will be Blood on Blu-Ray this week, and my love and admiration for that film has increased further. Stunning!!

And finally, the more I see of The Clone Wars, the less enthused I become. I'm finding the art style very ugly and the animation uninspiring. I don't think it will touch Genndy Tartakovsky's 2D animation, so I really question the point of this (although I always have).
I might change my mind, but for now the jury is out. A wide digital distribution might helps matters.

Hancock isn't bad, it is certainly an original idea.
I think the main issue most people I know had with it was that it's format only worked for the first half of the film. Once he reformed and became a normal suprhero it wasn't as good.
The disorderly behaviour was fun and Will Smith was a good choice to do it, but once they got rid of that it became a bit of an overblown CG-fest.

Did seem a bit like they made it simply because they knew Will Smith would attract crowds, and that is not the way to make a film.

We've just come back from The Forbidden Kingdom and although it was good it could have been better. I do not understand why they have to use mythology to bring kung fu to life and sometimes I'd rather go with subtitles because Sparrow's accent was next to impossible to understand at times. Jet Li and Jackie Chan speak really well, as did most of the other Chinese actors. The fight scenes seemed a little slow paced compared to what I'm used to from them but that may have been so that the Western audience can follow them do it. tired

Right. If it's not your stuff, I wouldn't recommend it. Otherwise it was good viewing.

I'm looking forward to the Dark Knight next. But that is after my holiday. /me off for two weeks.

Jet Li & Jackie Chan aren't that young now, maybe the fight scenes were slowed down to benefit them tongue
I will still go and see it, sounds like good fun.

But I think Kung Fu Panda will be the martial arts comedy of the year, that was great.

Saw HELLBOY 2: THE GOLDEN ARMY last night. WOW. A visual spectacle. There are so many weird and wonderfully amazing creatures! The plot gets a little lost at times (the main plot is set up in the beginning, and the other sub-plots can be a bit distracting), but that's a very minor gripe. I was completely bowled over by the costumes, make-up and the awesomeness that is Guillermo DelToro. LOVED it! Lots of funny moments and great action scenes.

We're seeing THE DARK KNIGHT on the 17th (at midnight - it opens on the 18th here in Canada). CANNOT WAIT!!

Matt, I've seen WALL-E four times already - and I still adore it. Fantastic stuff. I think you'll appreciate it for what it is and the message it conveys.

I know a lot of SW fans are not all that enthused for Clone Wars (mostly due to the animation style and because it's based on prequel stuff). But I think it's going to be great. I really like that they've changed the animation style from Tartakovsky's (his stuff is fantastic though). Story lines look really good (of course they're going to recycle old characters with new - that's just what GL does). Our group is pretty stoked for the opening -we've made up 'Official Line Up' shirts and are planning to stake out the theatre. There's so much more GL can do and cover in the animated medium. Like they state, it's going to be Star Wars like we've never seen before!

Is Clone Wars basically the new TV series uncut into a film version?
Or is the film an extended pilot for the series?
