I imagine if he only went for today he got a bum deal...people were queuing to get in from 4am (i got there at 7:30) - and all the Heroes guests and the right honourable Mr Stewart were jammed!

Here are my photos from LF&CC '07:
Me with my fellow fanforcers:
Some dealer tables:
Some of the Star Wars guests:
The Star Wars zone:
And here is a picture of some carpets. While this was not taken at LF&CC'07, I felt it was important we all reminded ourselves what they look like and the benefits they can have in our homes, work places, schools and even conventions:
All-in-all, a terrible show which promised much to start with but failed to delivery on so many fronts. The worse venue I've ever been to (and it wasn't Earls Court 1, it was the second floor of Earl's Court 1), badly in need of some actual lights and carpet. Even the Bumblebee Camaro was dodgy, possible constructed and painted last weekend by Nelly the Elephant.
For what is meant to be a flagship show and premiere event, this was horrid with a depressing and grotty atmopshere and a floor plan that would even have Mr.Rubik scratching his head.
The talks were good, I'll give them that but anything else remotely positive to say is difficult to muster.
I'd better end there or I'll be here all day. Must do much, much better next time is what the report card will say.

You catch on pretty quick Ven
Sorry we didn't get to meet. I arrived for standard entry on Sunday and after a quick tour in the London Dungeons I queued for the Lost talk, which has to be said was a very good talk and just about justified spending £5 on the entry fee. After that we needed some light and lunch, lol.
Sadly the Star Wars zone didn't happen. I think more hands-on-the-deck were needed leading up to this show, especially with Collectormania Glasglow just last week, but I'm hoping SM take a serious note of all this because things need to change.

Yeah - i think content wise the event had some good stuff, but it lacked some 'extras' to make the atmosphere and general fan-friendliness a bit higher - stuff they get automatically with MK that they need to think more about for these kind of events...and they need to do something about those photo shoots - they're a nightmare - queue to check your bag and again to get the photo taken, then again to pick the photo up!

I take it the black photos are some kind of protest at the LFCC's crapness?

Yes, although more specifically the fact that it was so dark inside the venue.

Ah.
That's not on. If it's that dark inside the venue, health&safety is compromised. Talk about a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Well, from a Health & Safety perspective the danling ceiling tiles and the holes in the floor surface were probably a more immediate concern...;)

Maybe you should write a complaint letter.
If enough people complain hopefully they'll consider moving it back to where it was last year.

Oh my, I heard from a friend that it was pretty abismal but I had no idea just how bad until I saw those snaps from the event. Sounds to me as though they couldn't organize to save their lives And the star wars zone never happened? I went to the one back in 05 and it was pretty good - whats going on? New team in charge of setting these events up?
By the way...a stunning collection of carpets there Tice! You know, I was just thinking the other day...we should really learn to appreciate fine carpetry.
