Hello fellow Fanforcers
Celebration Europe is just around the corner in your fine city and the Portuguese Fan Force as well as the 501st Outpost are preparing our share in the invasion of the Queen's grounds.
First of all, I apologize if this isn't the proper place to talk about this, but it seems the CE dedicated forum is now gone, so you're, perhaps, the best possible forum to talk about this.
I was confronted with a newspaper article about the usage of weapons in public areas as well as customs restrictions in the UK. This concerns us because we have a jedi and a Sith costumed members who are thinking about taking Force FX sabers as well as a Tusken Raider with a pike and a Sandtrooper with a E-11 and Shotgun (plastic replicas, of course) that may cause trouble in the airport or even in the London streets condidering that the article stated that Police will confiscate any object that can represent a weapon, especially swords or katanas.
Everyone knows what a Force FX looks like. But I don't know.
Does someone have ANY information that might help us with this?
Must I take my saber in the cargo hold luggage when flying? Can I take at all?

And the replica weapoon issue was being discussed there in this thread. I don't know if we got a definitive answer though.

Do we really need to meet at 7am? Seems a bit, err. eager.
I had a bit of a muck-up on the holiday booking front (someone else beat me to booking the weekend off) and it was only last week I got the OK, having taken over two months to find cover. I was considering resigning!
Anyhoo, all's well now, providing the tickets arrive.
