Hi Everyone
I hope that it is ok to post this here? If it is not sorry for doing so.
We are in the planning stages of organising a Star Wars fan event in the UK during 2008.
Our aim is to bring together the largest number of Star Wars related guests in one place, this would include from both in front of and behind the screen!
We will be holding a fan film competition, art and model competitions, talks on stage....
Yes there will be a lot of faces that you may have met before but we are also talking to many other guests also, please remember that this about bringing Star Wars fandom together in many more ways than just autographs which we know is a large element so bare with us.
We are currently mailing out to clubs, associations and fan groups as well as looking into reaching the wider general public.
Hopefully we will have the supprt of the Fan Force in the event.
The event will be called Star Wars Days, currently a website is in development and should launch over the next few weeks.
We are looking for people to get involved in different areas such as web design help, forum moderators, promotion, animation, stage production, video editing and filming plus many other areas.
As soon as we have finalised the dates and venue which should be shortly we will post the information.

Thanks for posting Starwarsdays, and it certainly sounds very interesting 
I know it may be a while-off yet, but any idea when and where it'll be?? Just thought it would be good to bare in mind Jedi-Con 2008 takes place at Easter in Germany and a few FanForcers from across Europe plan to attend that one, so would be well worth avoiding that kind of date. Also, and feel free not to answer, do you have any previous experience organising conventions?? More out of curiosity (well, being nosey) but coming here was definitely a good move and I can certainly think of ways I'd like to get involved alongside the FanForce and fellow fanart artists.
Please keep us updated and I wont be shy sending any ideas we/I may have

Thanks for the heads up on the German event, no we will not be clashing with that, we have various events in mind to avoid and that is one them.
As to organising events before, yes a number of people who are involved have organised a number events before, some not in the Scifi field which is good in as much as it allows a different look at the event and a different angle to come in from.
That is not to say that we are not Star Wars or scifi fans we all are or that we have not been involved in various events before.
Fell free to offer suggestions and feedback as we are happy to take it on board.
Date wise it will most likely be in the first half of 08.
We are finishing venue visits at the moment and have short listed a few, so further details should be forthcoming soon.
