Possible idea for Boy Scout event

I know a fellow judge who is the head of a local Boy Scout troop and expressed an interest at having us appear at a scout meeting to discuss our "hobby". I was thinking maybe we can make this a joint Echo Base/NER/MEPA/DB516 event. I know it's not like an official LFL event but I don't remember us doing anything anything for kids in a long time. If you're interested, please let me know. I'd like for this to involve costumers and non-costumers since there is more to fandom than costuming.
The scout meets in Upper Manhattan...like in the 200s. If people are interested I can get details and set it up with the troop leader.

The scout dude is finally going to talk to the scout leaders and get back to me as far as the OK for having the event. Since we originally planned it for Jan 14 and it's going to cut things close I'm asking if they can push it to Jan 28th instead so people have time to look at their schedules. I'll talk to him again on friday and let everyone know.

Ah, the Canadians once had a thread here called The Official OPPM Hate Thread (or something like that). It consisted of countless creative ways to destroy OPPM. Sheer genius.

I've received word from Mike that the Boy Scouts event will happen on March 4th in the AM. Their meetings are in way uptown Manhattan, around the 210th Street mark off the A train stop.

Just to give you guys a head's up. These cub scouts, about a half dozen of them are about 6 t 10 years old. I'll be bringing a few props, my autographed photos, some signed figures and my plush lightsabers for a possible jedi training camp. It doesn't have to be real high-brow or overly amazing. They'll probably be wow-ed by the sabers alone. i figure we can meet at the Starbucks in Penn Station by the uptown A train.
