Docking Bay 516 will be presenting Star Wars Day at the Post Office in Ronkonkoma, NY on Saturday, June 16, 2007 from 11 AM to 3 PM. Members will be present in costume to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Star Wars. There may be some media presence at this event. More information about the location, including driving and LIRR directions, will be forthcoming.

Billy, the displays are ordered to be destroyed after the promoting is over. So its hard to get them. Most Post offices wont give them to fans.

Train- Take the LIRR to Ronkonkoma
Location -Hawkins Avenue, 2 blocks South of the Long Island Expressway Exit 60.(50.3 miles From Penn Station)
The Post Office is right on the other side of the LIE
on Hawkins. The Beverage Barn  is across from Post Office.It's an easy walk.
Drive- take LIE (495) east to exit 60.
The Light after the ramp(Ronkonkoma Ave)
go straight to next light (Hawkins Ave)
Go left Cross over LIE. It's right on the
other side(on left) Beverage Barn
is across from Post Office.

On USPS.com it says you can preorder the stamps starting april 25th, yet there is no place to pre order them..I guess you have to call to order over the phone..

I know someone who preordered the stamps and already recieved them. I thought they cant release em early like that.
Oh and as for the stand up, I asked at my post office and they already have it reserved d for someone so I bet some will be saved. --Billy

OMG, what day. I'm ready to crash. I guess there was about 500 people (parents/kids,etc) for the day. I hope everyone liked the Army Jeep at the end of the day surprise by my house. I know we were all tried then. I had alot of fun. It was great finally to sit down at dinner. Thanks to everyone who took apart.I will never forget today.

I was very fortunate enough to get a hold of one of those stand ups. I know the people in my PO very well, they know Im a Star Wars fan. I came in one day and the clerk said "You wanted that stand up right?" I said "ah. . . oh yeah yeah sure. Yeah I was the one who asked for it."
She said she would call her supervisor and hold it for me. I still thought there is no way I'm getting this.
A few days later I walk in and see the display gone. I ask the clerk and he said "oh were holding it in the back for you."
I got it out of there as quick as I could.
It's now sitting in my living room.
The clerk later told me that the supervisor must be new because they werent supposed to let the standup go. My friend the clerk tryed to get another one for someone else and they squashed it. I got very lucky. --Billy
