Tentative interest from Dana, Moriah, Dan, and Kenny. Likely this will be our big gathering/dinner event. Jan 31 (Thu) 7:00 PM Farmingdale - Kaboom Feb 3 (Sun) 2:00 PM Northport - Kaboom Interest from Dana and Rob Y Event Planning ==== Spoof Viewing Party Watch Family Guy Blue Harvest, the Robot Chicken Star Wars episode, etc. Date and location to be discussed on the boards. Winter BBQ/Meeting We're still awaiting the opportune moment. Fanboys Movie Premiere Event Fan Force is promoting the upcoming movie Fanboys by encouraging clubs to do an event for the movie premiere. We could likely throw together something similar to our ROTS premiere events without too much planning. No release date is available at the moment. Further discussion will occur when we have more information. Star Wars Day at a Book Store To be discussed after I-CON. I-CON Update Abhay attended the last I-CON meeting and reported on tentative guests, the charity auction, the location of the con in 2009, and other interesting happenings. I-CON Newsletter content - The deadline is this Friday (Jan 18). - Send all submissions to Abhay. - Abhay will put together stuff about DB516's programming. - Billy and Dana will put together stuff about the FF Awards. - Someone (no volunteer!) will put together stuff about our table. - Abhay will contact Clive about promoting his agenda. Table Jar Jar Game: Rob has volunteered to run the game for much of Saturday. The consensus is that we will only run the game when people feel like running it, i.e. we will not feel compelled to run it all the time. Fan Force Awards Vicki wants donations to help construct the physical awards, both in the form of specific action figures and general monetary assistance. There is a thread about this on the boards. I-CON is excited to host the Fan Force Awards and will be happy to provide a large room to seat 100 people for a double time slot. To keep things simple and straightforward for them, we have been asked to provide a document that spells out in detail everything that will happen at the event. Examples include filming, music being played, video being screened, etc. The also wish to know all the details about Fan Force, i.e. whether it is incorporated, whether it's a charity, etc. Billy and Dana have volunteered to put this together and hand it off to Abhay. Philadelphia Trip to see SW: Where Science Meets Imagination We are trying to plan a trip to Philly's Franklin Institute to take in this exhibit, possibly meeting up with the DC Fan Force in the process. We came to the conclusion that we should pick dates because getting DC to pick them will take forever. The exhibit is running until May 4th. We will discuss this online. Club Business ==== Treasurer's Report Rob purchased $10 worth of foam darts (ten packages of three darts each) for the Jar Jar Game. The club agreed to reimburse him for whatever portion of that we end up using. We still have folders, pens, etc. from last year's I-CON survey expedition, so there's no need to buy new ones. The treasury is as full as it was last month. The new treasurer needs to get details from the prior treasurer. Elections The election for Chapter Rep took place, with Dana securing the victory after a long and thoughtful debate. Upcoming meetings - Meeting 63 Feb 10 -- may be adjusted for the Hoth BBQ - Meeting 64 Mar 9 -----signature----- "Around the survivors a perimeter create."
