JR -- If you want to "helm" the event we could still do it! My moving situation is just really fluid right now: we were hoping to do it the 14/15th but they haven't even finished moving all the furniture out of the new place, much less started the painting/carpeting/fixing-up. Whenever they finish that, supposedly we have the whole month (whatever's left of it anyway) to move, but I've only got the weekends. Oy, the stress! I really wanted to do this event, and if you want to keep it on the schedule, there's always the chance the JB family could still come...but I didn't want to schedule it, then not be able to go. Plus, interest didn't seem as high as at first! What say you all?

So sorry for not participating in this one (again!) but with my schedule right now I couldn't even commit enough to vote on a date. So I didnt. Bad me.
Oh well, now SR can go play with his stormtrooper buddies and we can still have an unofficial gathering. happy

I can "take charge" of this event if there are people going! Does everyone want to keep the Santa Anita event or move it to the 501st movie?

Santa Anita is $5 to get it and $4 to park. You don't have to bet big if you're so inclined. You can bet as little as $1.

"Heart of an Empire" will be playing at the Regency Lido Theater on Lido Island in Newport Beach (Orange County) as a part of the Newport Beach Film Festival. Tickets are $10.

Either is fine with me. The races are fun, the track is nice if you've never been there. There's a lot of Seabiscuit movie memorabilia around including one of the horses that played Seabiscuit. If we go to the movie, everyone is responsible for ordering their own ticket, and we'll just meet there and maybe get dinner somewhere afterward.

Let's hear what you want to do, and we'll decide by Tuesday.
