I do this every year since I first started going. I know a few of you guys are going to Dragon Con this year, and maybe one year I'll join you guys, but for the meanwhile, anyone going to CC this year, post here and let's discuss what's going on. Did you get the hotel you wanted? I almost had the Hilton, but the servers were clogged when I was getting it. And if anyone knows of any other cons this year during the summer, please let me know where I can find info on them. I'd like to start going to more conventions.

I'm going all four days. I have a room at the Hilton non con rate. No plans have been made yet. I want to go to the SD group dinner on Preview night. I had so much fun two years ago doing that. I missed out last year but this year I want to go.
I probably won't keep the Hotel that I booked. Hopefully I'll be staying at someone's residence, a friend who lives 15 miles from downtown. I'll just have to drive in every morning bright and early but saves me money for D*Conn.

I ordered my tickets for all 4 days and have 2 rooms at non-con rates; the Hilton and the Marriott (next door to the con). I'll need a windfall of cash before July if I plan on keeping either of them, but I'm hopeful! If not, I'll stay at my cousins house about 15 minutes out.

I'll be going,planning on being at a couple booths this year.One will be Justin from lininguptv. He's hosting like he did last year and one day he will be hosting TheOneRing.net . I've been asked to do a con exclusive shirt for that day so I plan on hanging out on that day, the other day I plan to have my own booth possibly outside the con at the Vinyl Toy set up which will be seperate from the con. I'll be wizzing around doing my thing at other booths as well.
I am also going to Wizard world con in LA on Mar 14,15,16th . Can't wait!

I have four weeks of leave I have to burn this year so I am debating whether or not I should lose my Comic Con virginity and go this year.
How does it compare to CIV? Besides Anime Expo 2000, that is the only convention I have gone to. If you don't collect stuff, is there still stuff to see and do?

Comic Con is just like CIV. Except in San Diego. And with 125,000 people. And non-Star Wars stuff. And with freebies. And it doesn't suck as much...
So it's pretty much nothing like CIV.
CCI is an experience in itself. If you're claustraphobic like myself, I'd suggest not planning to stay on the dealers floor at all times. Take a breather in Hall H and see previews of upcoming movies, or go outside to see the city or head upstairs to the gaming rooms.

The convention itself wasn't anything spectacular. I had way more fun just hanging out at the Fig with my friends from across the globe as we celebrated my 21st birthday all week.

I think since Miana lives in San Diego, it's just another thing that comes and goes in the city she lives in. I look forward to going almost every year, except next year, I think I'm going to finally use my passport and travel abroad. But I'll probably still go to CCI for maybe a day or weekend.

Heck no! I love and dread Comic Con for an entire year!  It's SO much fun, but such a pain in the butt to get stuff ready for it... but it's SO MUCH FUN.
And I've only lived here 4 years, you know. I spent the previous 18 in Riverside.

Hey,
I'm going to CC this year, and as I am in NZ and moving to the UK, I plan to go there on my way.
I applied to be a volunteer, as its my first overseas Con, I though this would be a good way not to get lost. LOL
