If you have any San Diego specific questions, MC, swing on over to the San Diego boards and ask away. One of our guys is one of the head volunteer coordinators, so I'm sure he'd be happy to help out with anything, as would all of us!

I'm looking for anyone who'd like to share a room for CC with me. I'm staying at Holiday Inn at the Bay and I'm planning to stay from Tuesday night thru Sunday. We'd split $171/night plus tax and I'll get a two bed room. If anyone is interested, please let me know. If you have any concerns, you can ask Valeda Kor, Darth Bubba or Skyryder as I've shared lodging with each of them before and can vouch for me. It would be mutually beneficial as my roommate and I would cut down on CC costs to have some extra spending cash. Please let me know.

I'm bumping this up because it's almost time for the deposit to go through. And to let anyone who would want to room with me, I changed my reservation to Wed-Sun, so it's 4 nights and not 5. I got the Con rate for Holiday Inn at the Bay which is $171/night.
I also found a hotel in National City for almost half the price of Holiday Inn at the Bay; if anyone would want to go in on that, I'd have to have the cash up front because the reservation requires payment in advance. Please let me know, I'm in dire need of a roommate to help one another out, please LAFF boards, you're my only hope!

Say, I might very well need a room to share for Comic-Con from Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday! Are you still looking? This will be my first Comic-Con but as an old school STAR WARS fan I am veteran of numerous conventions and film festivals. I'm even volunteering to work the show a bit just to get the full experience. Anyway, I'm interested... let me know! Cheers.

Going to be in beautiful downtown San Diego for Comic-Con?
Want to have fun in a chance to win a $200 grand prize?
The San Diego Rocket Race team (that put on the Kessel Run at C4) is putting on a race around downtown San Diego:
SUPERCOLOSSAL FAN RACE
* Starting Line: "Coming Together" mosaic/sculpture at the south end of the San Diego Convention Center
* Starting Time: 7 pm
* Entrance Fee: $20 for a team of two.
How it works:
At the start of the race, each team of two will receive a packet with their first clue, which will lead them to a place where they will receive their second clue, which when solved will lead them to a place to get their third clue, etc. Clues will require solving puzzles based on all sorts of things you might find at Comic-Con: movies, comics, sci-fi, fantasy, gaming, etc. (more than just the standard sci-fi fare from the annual fall Rocket Race or the Star Wars theme of the Kessel Run). Racers will travel on foot, and the race should take no more than 2 hours.
A Comic-Con badge is not required.
Did I mention that the first place prize is $200?
