Hey is there any information yet on what theaters are going to have The Clone Wars or whether any local Star Wars fan groups will be attending midnight showings (I would assume there are going to be those) in the area? I have a friend coming from out of town and we want to go see the movie together, as is our tradition, and I'm just wondering what everyone is doing for it...

I would check out...ok I wouldn't personally because of what I've heard about them...liningup.net
They probably have something going on at a theater in the Hollywood area.

Jilted, are you....baiting? That comment is reminiscent of a clickish High Shchool Cheerleader and it makes you look really bad. At the very least I feel sorry for you. I also think it's pretty disrespectful to those here that are a part of both LAFF and Liningup or maybe in the future might want to be. Liz and her honorary member husband are two of the coolest people I met from the line. And Scott who also I believe lined up with us has narely ever a negative thing to say about anyone ever.I like talking to Lowbacca on either board. He always has something interesting to say.
This one goes out to you. GIve me a G Give me an O Give an S,Give me an S Give me an I Give me a P. What does that spell? YEAH! WEEEEE....yawn. Sorry, I'm just tired of it all. All I wanna do when I come on here is to have fun and meet some cool people that love Star Wars.
And people wonder how come none likes to post here anymore.Let the finger pointing begin. ( that was a hypothetical-the finger pointing comment, sure I'll get some clever response but ultimately, I can't help but say something.)
I joined Liningup for the reason that they were helping to raise money for a great Charity. I still want to do so once I get my costume but as I hang out more to watch the Biker Scout climb the Tree of Endor, the only thing I can see is his butt and that makes me not want to be apart of anything anymore. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before the people who created Bumfights are going to have us fighting with each other on DVD at our own expense.
JV,the Premiere on the 10th is sold out. I only bought the ticket for that same reason. It was for a good cause. 45 bucks to see a movie I can wait a week for.Heck to the Mother Fracking no! Paying 45 bucks for a good cause plus Star Wars, get out of my way. GF and I are going to that for sure. Yeah!
BTW, You are also on both boards and apart of both. THANK YOU so much for your help in finding out some info for us in regards to the midnight screenings around here. I will be in contact with you and the other LUNers as well. I loved hanging out with you at the Stamp release. I thought I was the only crazy one from LUN that was going to show up all stoked! :P

What, JT?! I thought most of the people mentioned were your friends. Personally, I don't think I've ever met nicer people than Wafflebot & Gforce. Also, Lowbacca has never been anything but nice to me.

I'm not going to explain the history of liningup.net.
All I can say is a majority of people at the time agreed to keep our two groups separate for a reason.

haha, wow, so much animosity.
I personally wouldn't get along with most of the people who lined up for TPM, at least, in front of Mann's and whatnot. I'm not saying they're not good people, I interviewed a number of them for my first book, it's just I don't really need that negativity. I love Star Wars, I come to enjoy the films and talk about how great they are, if I wanted to talk about "how much the prequels suck" I'd find some idiot at my local college, not a fellow fan. To me, it's like being on a Marine squad and one of your fellow marines knives you in the back. Honestly, you don't want that guy on your squad, to say the least. If I go line up for a new Star Wars movie, I'm really excited, I can't wait to see it, and it's a major event. The last thing I need is some tool there telling me how Lucas sucks, ever since Return of the Jedi every movie has been garbage, but for some reason here they are 30 years later still pretending to be fans. It's just unnecessary and really angers me, though I'm very diplomatic in person so I'll just laugh it off and not debate with them but in my head I'm like, yeah, one of these types of fans, the types we DON'T need in our fan base, who really should go watch Stargate or LOTR or whatever the heck it is that's so great in their minds. If a fan starts giving me that nonsense I'm just like, yeah, anyway, moving on. That's why I'm glad my friend Erik is coming down to see Clone Wars with me, at least we should have fun.
But I'm just trying to figure out how the heck you get midnight tickets anywhere else but these three theaters showing up on Fandango I've never heard of for 90015 zip code. I was hoping that ArcLight would have something, if not the Chinese, and if not either of those, I don't know, maybe one in Burbank, maybe The Grove though it doesn't seem like the type of theater to keep open late, so I don't know.

Your best bet would be to PM GForce, Lowbacca or Wafflebot & ask them to post the latest info they've got.
(Thanks for getting us back on topic, Bowen. My Stars, we do tend to digress, don't we?)
Anyone up for seeing Clone Wars this Saturday? I'm working Thursday & Friday of next week & don't choose to see Clone Wars at midnight, when I'd probably fall sound asleep in the middle of a movie I've been waiting to see for over a year, even if at least half my friends are.

The Chinese doesn't seem to show much in the way of big movies anymore now that that element of Hollywood's being torn apart.

One of the reasons that Clone Wars will not be opening at the Chinese on the 15th
is because "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2" opened there two days ago on the 6th, and will probably be there
a couple of weeks.
In addition, when I talked to WB Distribution, they just seemed to love the Arclight because
they can display props from the films and they have other activities going on with the opening of the movie.
For example: When Indy 4 opened there --- they had a display of snakes, etc.
And when Episode III opened there - they had the Master Replicas sabre fights.
