Bowen, I like your outllok on life. Nobody at works gets me but I always come back with great stories to tell about my adventures from whatever days I took off for this and that event.
This is just one more father in that hat.
Had a great time.

lol, thanks Waffle. I work hard when I'm working and I enjoy my work, mostly, but you know ultimately I just think ten years from now, what are you going to remember the most? Some random day of work or going to a midnight premiere for a Star Wars film. You can't really go back in time and fix it if you didn't go, and wish you had, haha.

I had a fun time, wish the theater was full but oh well.

I saw it with other Star Wars fan buddies on Friday night at, of all places, the Hollywood Arclight. I swore I'd never go there again, but I'm glad I did. We had a great time, maybe as much fun as the people who went in a big Star Wars Group to the midnight showing. But, I heard Wafflebot & GForce actually met the movie's author -- or was that at the premier, guys?

The only criticism I'd have was the person doing Padme's voice didn't sound like Natalie Portman. All the other voices were great & only Christopher Lee & Anthony Daniels were from the original cast, I think.

Here's where I stop.

No spoilers from me...at least not for a while, in case anyone hasn't had a chance to see it, yet.

When i met the writer at the premiere i invited him to see it with us at midnight on Friday. I didn't think he was going to show up then at the end of the night he came up to me and asked " Did you like it the second time?"
pretty cool!

Samuel L. Jackson did his voice too, remember.

There were rumors originally that Daniels wasn't doing his voice, which made no sense to me, he's like Lucasfilm's golden boy, hehe, excuse the pun. So I'm glad he did it.

Thanks, Bowen. I didn't realize Jackson did his voice until someone else told me yesterday. I appreciate the information from both of you.

OK, all, I saw it over the weekend.

It was very weird not to hear Alfred Newman's 20th Century Fox Cinemascope extension playing while seeing the Lucasfilm logo. The battle chatter they employed instead was really creepy. I'm also not sure why they ruined Star wars tradition of the opening crawl, which was heretofore so pervasive in all movies and video games.

I was very impressed with the actor who did Obi-Wan. He sounded almost exactly like Ewan McGregor imitating Alec Guiness' vocal inflections.

I did not like the look of the film at all. The characters all looked stark and unemotional, except the huttlet and perhaps Ahsoka.

The story was a bit convoluted and parts of it were unnecessary and seemed to be added for the sake of mere filler. The whole movie dragged and seemed like a Saturday morning cartoon that went on way too long. It also seemed to be written expressly for pre-teen children, which perhaps it was.

Overall, a rather disappointing effort from George and the gang.

That's why I won't be watching it. Sorry, but it looked horrible in the previews. Just because it is Star Wars, doesn't mean it is good.

I wish Lucas would leave the clone wars and anything between the PT and OT alone. Just leave it alone Lucas. There is a whole world of Old Republic to explore and you won't completely ruin the movies with a bunch of filler dreck to make a quick buck.

I think you also have to have an affinity for anime & other kinds of animation. If you didn't like Shrek or many of the other Pixar type 'movies' you probably won't like this either.

I loved it, flaws and all.

We both Loved it and havw seen it twice now, but if you are going to watch it and compare it to the films you will hate it. Really what you are viewing is the first 4 of 100 episodes, which in October will air on Toon Network Friday Nights and Tnt-HD on Sundays. I was told by the writer that 50 episodes are already completed.

I love everything Pixar. But the characters in Pixar movies are animated so emotional and expressive, you actually almost empathize with them. Other than my identifying with their live action counterparts, I couldn't have cared less about any of them. The dialogue was stilted and rife with cliche. There was no character development whatsoever, and they are drawn in such a harsh look that it made it near impossible to connect with them emotionally.

I also take offense at Anakin fighting with Dooku. Dialogue in the films have clearly stated that they only fought twice, once on Geonosis in AOTC, and once on Invisible Hand in ROTS. Why change it now?

P.S. Do you mean Cartoon Network? If not, what is Toon Network?

I thought all of the previews were amazing, I was very impressed with the animation style, especially the cities and backgrounds look incredible.
