The other new packaging is a foot long pegable package with a clear window and on the top it has the STAR WARS logo, and on the bottom it says...TRANSFORMERS. That's right, Star Wars Transformers!
This shall be interesting to see what this turns out to be.

I need a cigerette after reading that.
Since Hasbro has the license to both, that was always like a dream of mine, but I figured differences between Lucasfilm and Takara would prevent it from ever happening.

I though they would never be able to do this. With liscensing and all. Hopefully there will be some more information coming out of San Diego this weekend.

I have given thought in the past to buying three of the old X-Wing model kits and painting them as StarScream, Thundercracker, and SkyWarp...

I'm being more hopeful for better versions of the Destroyer droids and Vulture droids. Even though I'm a Transformers fan, I hope they don't get to goofy with this idea.

I have only one demand for this movie: Frank Welker for the voice of Megatron and Peter Cullen for the voice of Prime. I guess if push came to shove I could tolerate someone else doing Megatron's voice, even though he is by far my favorite character. But, man, without Peter Cullen doing the voice, it just will not be Optimus Prime. I've been following Don Murphy's posts on his site for a long time now about this movie, and he definitely knows this demand is out there in fandom. Hopefully the studio doesn't cram more well-known actors into the roles just to put their names on the marquee. I don't think I could take it if it said, "And Brad Pitt as the voice of Optimus Prime!"

I could live with that, actually.
I'm totally willing to accept whatever celebrity hams they want to stick in for voice acting on any of the other characters, just not Prime and Megatron.
Come to think of it, though, that would be weird to hear anyone else doing the voice of Starscream, too... The voice is so distinctive on so many of these characters for me, it's hard to imagine them not sounding like the always have.
