I vote for Showcase Cinemas de Lux 16 on Preston hwy. on opening night. I have given all of my Star Wars business to Showcase ever since it first came out. I saw the Original Trilogy and Episodes I & II at the one on Bardstown rd. and since that one closed, I was forced to see Episode III at the Preston location. Not quite as good as Bardstown rd. but I had a wonderful time nonetheless  Any thoughts??

I loved the one on Bardstown road myself, that was my favorite one. But Preston seems fine by me. Hopefully I can make it!

That one was my favorite too. I got depressed when I found out I wouldn't be able to see III there.  I am still hoping against hope that they will reopen it someday. (Senseless hoping I know but a guy can dream can't he?  lol)

Something to discuss at the meeting I think. I've never been to Preston but I like Stoneybrook. They also have the restaurant/bar inside where we could hang out/meet before the movie. We should also discuss which night would be best for everybody-Friday or Saturday (I can do either) or wait and see if they offer a Thursday midnight show. Just something to think about.

I am wondering if we should even make it for Saturday night to make it easier for everyone to make it. Any thoughts?? I can always make my vacation for then as well. My work is usually pretty cool about that.

Looking at it Friday night probably works better for me. There are two Cons that weekend--Gen Con in Indy and Frightnight film fest here in Louisville (mostly horror but there are a couple of Scifi guests http://www.frightnightfilmfest.com/guests.html ). I don't know if I'm going to either but I'd like to keep it open.
Having said that if everyone decides Saturday works best I'll be there. Star Wars comes first!

I think it is safe to say that we will all be attending Friday August 15th. Now we just need to find out showing times. Early evening (around 6 or 7) or late evening (around 8 or 9)? and where we will attend. Cinema de Lux 16 or Stonybrook? any thoughts?

BAXTER AVENUE - PROMOTING STAR WARS

I am currently working with Baxter Avenue theaters to have some kind of promotion for the Clone Wars movie. They will likely have some kind of costume contest or something. I'll post more here when I know more. Whatever they decide, it looks like they will have some kind of special goings-on for the movie.
They may...MAY...bring some of the live-action Star Wars films to Baxter in the fall. I am teaching a class on Star Wars at Bellarmine, and I'm trying to get any of the films played to coincide with the class. Again, I'll post more when I know more.

Hmm? Time? Did we want to have a meeting before the screening? Maybe meet at 7? Movie 8-ish? And I'm sure some of us will want to hang out and discuss afterwards.
If Baxter does something I would vote for that. Anything that makes the night more special is a winner in my book. Plus it would be a good recruitment opportunity for the club. If they don't I'm okay with either Preston or Stoneybrook as long as Preston has a bar/eatery like Stoneybrook does.
