There is a movie running right now, which has a very STRONG component of a Star Wars theme involved in the plot... other than Star Trek. Bet you all can't guess which one it is? And what that theme involves??? Hmmmm????

Here's a hint... It involves someone cow-towing before a more powerful someone, and that more powerful someone referring to the one who is cow-towed as their apprentice. I thought it "very" reminiscent of a Sith and their Sith apprentice.

I thought I was a SW fan until I read that and had no idea what it meant.

I liked transformers 2, the storyline wasn't as good as the 1st. one, it definetly had more action though. So it made up for it...

I had almost forgotten about the terrible Transformers one movies...then they made a sequel. Absolutely avoiding that one at all costs!

For those of you who want to go see this, please do not read the following, because I'm no critic of renown flavor, that's for sure. And my following statements are "harsh" concerning the content. Also, please don't anyone who is an avid Transformers fan take insult, because I think the Transformers are an awesome concept as well.... its just..... (O.K., IF YOU INTEND ON SEEING THIS MOVIE, STOP NOW]
Well, Appo and I wanted to go see a show last Saturday, and because the CG in the first Transformers was so good, we thought we'd give the new one a shot. Now, with due respect to our Master Jai-Rew-Sett, whom I know is very much a Transformers fan, I was so disgusted by all the stuff that went on within the context between action shots, that I almost got up and left the theater. I just think the plot suffered a lot of shallow and unnecessary....... um..... for lack of a better word.... shall we say... "Adult antics and pretty vulgar language"?
HOWEVER..... I am the kind of person to have a lot of concern, about what our society is teaching our children. There seems to be a lot of double standards of behavior. And I do not think that this movie, [even tho the cartoons were geared towards children] is for the young mind to comprehend. Don't get me wrong, I'm not one to tell people how to raise their children, but mine would have been missing from the audience. The bad part is.... there is no way to know what the content involves, until you're in there and being exposed. Now, as an adult, much of it was humorous in a shallow way, to say the least. I just think it could have been a heck of a lot better, done in a way that it truly deserved to be done, and done in more of a emotionally mature fashion. This could have been made an epic, but as it stands, it left me feeling like I'd just gone and teen oriented B-rate film. (I guess it actually is, and that is a shame) I'm glad we only payed matinee prices, and got an Imperial discount on top of that.Again, what a shame.

It was lacking plot, but I thought the action was great, I mean it's michael bay(Explosions)!!! It had one of the coolest scenes ever(I think anyway)in an action movie, involving the yet to be seen new corvette(no spoilers). When I saw that, I got the same "chills" when I saw yoda use a lightsaber for the first time. (I actually used that same analogy in a transformers forum I belong to)lol.

Points well taken Master Jai-Rew, and I especially agree with you, that the action and CG in this movie are some of the best I've ever seen... No contest there at all. And oh my, my, and indeed, the car is to die for! For the action, the awesome CG, and the fact that there was a Master and an Apprentice in the mix, I'll give it 10 stars. But for the acting, plot, and content, I give it....
