Four Macon Clones films have been accepted into the Macon Film Festival.

Busted: A self proclaimed Sith Lord has engineered an assault on a small moon during the Clone Wars. With the resources of the Republic spread thin throughout the galaxy, a lone Jedi is dispatched by the Council to stop him.

Speeder: In this award nominated piece, a speeding motorist is pulled over by local authorities and attempts to use the Force to get out of a ticket.

Remote: A lazy couch-potato tries to use the force to get his T.V. Remote.

29th and Gay – directed by Carrie Preston

Carrie Preston is a Macon native who got her start at Theatre Macon. She is an accomplished actress and 29th and Gay is her first film in which she plays the role of producer, director, and editor.

Synopsis - 29th and Gay' is the movie for the gay everyman. Following a year in the life of James Sanchez, it's a story about a guy rapidly approaching thirty, who doesn't have a six-pack, full head of hair or a boyfriend. While his best friend Roxy, an actress-turned-activist, struggles with showing him there's life beyond the glitz of the disco ball, his other friend, Brandon, one of those gay boys comfortable in his own gay skin, works on getting James to at least talk to a boy. Feeling out of place in the world of circuit boys, caught between his Hispanic-American heritage and being gay, we watch James find his place in the world, realizing that life is in the journey, not the destination. Searching for the Wrong Eyed Jesus – directed by Andrew Douglass

Jim White plays himself in this engaging journey into the Deep South. Director Andrew Douglas tracks the alternative-country crooner as he brings his music to such diverse establishments as churches, jails and roadside bars. Along the way, Douglas shows us the touching world of the impoverished whites who have been cast aside by modern society, only to create their own unorthodox culture. Also features music from Johnny Dowd and Lee Sexton. (courtesy of Netflix)

Deliverance – directed by John Boorman

This Oscar nominated film by director John Boorman was filmed in many locations around the state of Georgia including Clayton, Tallulah Gorge, and Rabun County.

Wise Blood – directed by John Huston

This legendary director adapted Flannery O’Connor’s novel and filmed it on location in Macon in 1979.

Synopsis – A Southerner--young, poor, ambitious but uneducated--determines to become something in the world. He decides that the best way to do that is to become a preacher and start up his own church. (Courtesy of the Internet Movie Database)
