But I have to wonder where this would stop. If it can be applied to one person it can be applied to any, with or without consent.

I can see huge impact in dealing with disabilities and research into dimensia and other neurological disorders. But it strikes me as a nuclear bomb paradox, its benefit is only slightly greater than its destructiveness. Then again, I could just be paranoid. Either way its pretty dang impressive.
