This just in: Plaxico Burress just gave the Patriots "bulletin board material"! 
I also forgot to post that Tom Brady received a wedding proposal during the media day session from a Mexican reporter dressed in a miniskirted wedding gown, fishnets, and red pumps. Brady politely declined.

Are the Miami Heat really as bad as they say they are? The Celtics spanked them on their home court last night, with the Celtics not having both Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen available, and with Paul Pierce being a non-factor in the game. Leon Powe had a career-high 25 points and 11 rebounds off of the bench, and Rajon Rondo added 23 points to pace the Celtics in the 30-point 117-87 blowout. Celtics are going to need Garnett and Ray Allen back tomorrow night, though...the Dallas Mavericks pay their annual visit to the Garden in a game that will be televised nationally on TNT.

A sparse injury/participation report for both teams today...
Patriots: QB Tom Brady was not listed for his ankle, but rather the usual right shoulder injury. He had full participation in practice today, and was joined on the report by WR Jabar Gaffney, who was limited in practice with a shoulder injury.
Giants: Only WR Plaxico Burress (ankle) did not participate in practice today. CB Kevin Dockery (hip flexor) and G Rich Seubert (knee) were limited in practice today.

Add a knee problem to the worries of Plaxico Burress, as the Giants listed both an ankle and a knee for him on today's injury/participation report. Ralph Vacchiano of the NY Daily News said he hoped the pool report from Giants practice will explain how Burress injured the knee when he didn't practice yesterday. Burress, of course, did not participate in practice today; CB Kevin Dockery (hip) and G Rich Seubert (knee) had full participation.
The Patriots had no changes to their participation report today...WR Jabar Gaffney (shoulder) was limited in practice, and QB Tom Brady (right shoulder) had full participation in practice.
In Celtics news, Paul Pierce was named as a reserve for the Eastern Conference All-Stars tonight. Teammate Ray Allen, however, was not named as an All-Star reserve.

What a win for the C's last night, going down to the waning seconds with the Mavs w/o "The Ticket" again before Rajon Rondo outdueled Dirk Nowitzki for a rebound of a Celtics miss and the put-back to give the Celtics the lead for good. Ray Allen and Paul Pierce had 26 points apiece in the 96-90 win.

The Patriots only had one player on Friday's injury report: QB Tom Brady, who is the usual probable with a right shoulder.
The big news today from the Giants' injury report is that DE Osi Umenyiora, who will line up opposite Matt Light, was added to the report as probable with a thigh injury. Umenyiora did not practice, as well as WR Plaxico Burress, who is questionable with the ankle and knee. CB Kevin Dockery (hip) and LG Rich Seubert (knee) had full participation in practice and are both also listed as probable for the game on Sunday.
Also, the "Spygate" story has been revived, thanks to Senator Arlen Specter (R-PA), who has invited NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to speak to Congress about why the tapes confiscated from the Patriots in the scandal were destroyed. Commissioner Goodell has replied that he would be happy to testify before Congress on the matter. A Pennsylvania reporter said during Goodell's annual "State of the NFL" press conference that Sen. Specter wants assurance that the Patriots were not cheating in Super Bowl XXXIX, which involved the Philadelphia Eagles from Specter's home state. A published report said that the NFL obtained 6 videotapes from the Patriots in the "Spygate" investigation, which included footage from the 2007 pre-season, as well as games late in the 2006 season.

Patriots great LB Andre Tippett has been elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. His induction class also includes DE Fred Dean, CB Darrell Green, WR Art Monk, CB Emmitt Thomas (a senior nominee), and OT Gary Zimmermann. Tippett will be enshrined in ceremonies at the Pro Football Hall of Fame museum in Canton, OH on Aug. 2.

Michael Felger's report card for Super Bowl v. Giants
It's saying something about how badly the O-line played when they got the only failing grade of the season. The defense was not entirely blameless, either, as the secondary only got a D. Only the D-line got a grade higher than C level (B-).
In other Patriots news, QB Tom Brady and WR Randy Moss have pulled out of this weekend's Pro Bowl in Hawaii. Brady's spot will be taken by Cleveland Browns QB Derek Anderson, while Cincinnati Bengals WR Chad Johnson (yes, "Ocho Cinco") replaces Moss.
