I'd love to have my daughter's picture taken with the trophies. Very cool.

I wantd to do the same with my kids but my employer wasn't allowing family members in the pictures. Employees only.
My advice would be to call the Red Sox and ask for the Public Relations dept. Ask them if the trophy (or trophies) will be making and public appearances in the near future.

Anyone else think this will be a rocky off-season for the Patriots? Not only do they lose Asante Samuel to the Eagles (6 years, $57M w/ $32M in the 1st 3 years), but it's now reported that they're "not close" with Randy Moss on a new contract and Moss has started listening to offers from other teams.

I'm still in denial about the Super Bowl. I hadn't heard about Samuel, but I'm not surprised. Do they still have Stalworth? I heard he was on the way out as well.

I am not surprised that Moss isn't signed yet after the year he had I am sure he wants big money again like he got in MN after his good seasons there. The Pats really need to keep him and he needs to stay in New England neither have a chance to win the Super Bowl without the other IMO. Stallworth went to the Browns (wish he would have gone to Da Bears, team I like). So it would be Welker all by his lonesome if they don't sign Moss. Brady has done more with less before, but Welker isn't a number 1 receiver yet may be in a year or so. If they decide not to sign Moss they better commit to the run more or they could be in deep Banth Poo. lol

All appears right with the Patriots once again, as they got Randy Moss locked up yesterday. Moss signed a 3-year, $27M contract w/ $15M of that guaranteed and $12M of that in the form of a signing bonus. I shall look forward to Brady hooking up w/ Moss (no, not that way ) for some time to come.
In Celtics news, former Los Angeles Clippers point guard Sam Cassell has cleared waivers after having had his contract bought out, and should be in Boston today to sign with the Celtics, a good move for the Celtics, as they've been needing someone to help spell Rajon Rondo. Cassell may not be available for tomorrow night's rubber game against the Pistons, however, due to a hand problem.

No, they released him a couple of weeks ago and as Jorge said, he signed with the Brown just the other day. His release was not a shock at all. He was due around $8-$8.5M if the Patriots kept him. Way too much for a #2-3 receiver. He was a good WR for the team last year, but by the second half, Gaffney had kind of taken his place.
With Moss in place, they have a solid 1-2-3 of Moss, Gaffney & Welker. All they need to do is pick someone up who can compete with Washington and Jackson for the 4th spot and they're all set. Speaking of which, I did notice that Tennessee released former Patriot David Givens. I wonder if he'd be interested in a second tour of duty (if he's healthy)?

The Celtics had a rather convincing win last night against the Pistons, going on a 17-3 run to open the game, then 12 straight points at the end after the Pistons tied it for a 90-78 final. Kevin Garnett was huge, as he had his first 30+ point night as a Celtic, and Rajon Rondo had a spectacular dunk in the fourth quarter that probably made SportsCenter. With a loss by the Atlanta Hawks, the Celtics became the first team in the NBA to clinch a playoff spot this season, and this with 23 games still to play.

Closer Jonathan Papelbon got a new one-year deal from the Red Sox worth $775K today, a record salary for a reliever with less than 3 years major league service time.

Oh my goodness! This thread has fallen to the wayside!
In Red Sox news, it looks like Josh Beckett won't be making the trip to Japan at the end of the month due to a pulled back muscle. All tests & MRI's have come back negative for disc damage which is a good thing.
Rumors are that Jon Lester may take Josh's place as starter in one of the games over seas.
Seems that the pitchers mounds are not in the best shape down there at Spring Training and this may have been a contributing factor to Josh's back problems.
Celtics have made the playoffs...
Bruins? They are in the chase!
It's a great year to be a Boston Sports Fan!
In Patriots news, lawsuits against the Pats filed by fans for distress as well as the lawsuit against Randy Moss have both been dismissed.... is anyone really surprised by this?

Not for much longer.
It really pains me to see the depths this franchise has fallen to. I consider myself a big hockey fan, not just of the Bruins. It seems like the owner cares more about hot dog sales than putting a winning team out on the ice. The late 80's/early 90's were a great time to be a fan of the team. They were always in contention and had had legitimate Hall-of-Famers playing for the team every year.
Management finally seemed to be making an honest effort to win a couple of years back when the had a loaded team and finished with the best record in the league. Unfortunately the lost a 3-1 series lead to the Canadiens and were out of the playoffs. Then the lockout/strike happened. By the time NHL hockey came back, the management had gutted the team and they were painful to watch.
Earlier this year it looked like they turned the corner and were making strides to be a decent team. Unfortunately due to injuries and the GM not doing anything at the trade deadline, it looks like they could be on the outside looking in again come playoff time.
IMO, I don't think they'll ever compete for a championship again as long as the current owners are running the team.

The NFL is supposedly close to a deal w/ former videographer Matt Walsh to have him come forward with what he knows. It's generally believed that if Walsh actually has a tape of the Rams' walkthrough prior to Super Bowl XXXVI, the Patriots could be hit with another severe penalty, perhaps even a one-year suspension of coach Belichick. Most of the media here thinks Walsh is just blowing smoke, though, so we'll see.

Growing up hockey was everything to me. I played every chance I could, right up to my early 30's, watched every Bruins game, basically I lived and breathed it. Things started to change when they replaced the division names (remember when they were in the Adams Division?) with generic, regional names to make it easier for non-hockey fans to get into the sport. That left a bad taste in my mouth, but I still loved hockey, I even have the Bruins license plate. Then the strike, and the NHL became dead to me. I kept the license plate, only because the money goes to youth hockey. I've been to one game since the strike, and only because it was a reinforcer for one of the Individuals on my caseload. They abandoned their fans, and I hope they never reach the level of popularity they had reached. I guess I hold a grudge lol.
