Well first, we need a table before anything else. Since we three seems to be the only ones left (or at least posting), it's up to us to get this ready ASAP, it's already nearly October!

Count Jim in as well. He just doesn't post..hardly.
I have never been in contact with the convention organizer but I know Korey and Wormie have had dealings with them.

Last year we requested the table in JULY and nearly got bumped out of the event.
However, I believe that you will never know an answer unless you ask a question and thus, I just sent the below email to John at John's Toys. Keep your fingers crossed gentlemen...
*********************************
In past years you were able to provide us with a table and a few passes for the event. This helps us raise as much money as possible for our charities. Last year, we raised money for MDA and because of your generosity, we were able to raise more than $1,000 for the Cam Neely House two years ago.
This year, we will be raising money for Autism Speaks and, in order to beat our record from last year, we would ask that you provide us with the same generosity as last year.
I know that we are late in our request to you but, I would like to ask for a free table and four (4) free passes to this year's event.
Please contact me at your convenience to let me know if our presence will be possible this year. Email is the best way of communication for me.
Thank you in advance for your time and generosity.

I just went to the SMF page and he's still on there. Are we sure he canceled? The page was updated today as they've added James Marsters (Spike from Buffy, and Captain Arguyus from the Clone Wars).

From what I was told by SMF organizers, he won't be able to fly due to surgery. Apparently this decision was made today. I hope what I heard was wrong, but considering the source, I am afraid it is true.

From what I understand Prowse's health hasn't been the greatest and he has cancelled other appearances. It doesn't surprise me one bit he had to cancel for SMF. I do not plan to attend SMF now not only because there is a small SW presence but because my son's b-day party will be that weekend. If there was a bigger SW presence I might have went. I just took another look at the guests and since I see more models than actors I think my decision to stay away far away is a good one.
Are the organizers of this event going to start to book real actors instead of models and porn stars? Total joke and a waste of time.

I am confident that another Star Wars guest(s) will be arranged, there is still plenty of time.
A friend of mine tried to get SMF to book Sally Kellerman (M.A.S.H. , Back to School) but SMF won't show interest?
It's possible for him to maybe get Bonnie Piesse (AOTC, ROTS)

I honestly think they want to turn the con into an adult themed show with all the adult models and actresses. Granted most will probably not show up, but that looks to be the ever present theme the last two years, which is sad especially after having yrs with Billy Dee, Ray Park, Mayhew, Bulloch, etc.. The New England Fan Expo/Experience has more Sci-Fi actors than SMF will and that is the weekend before.
Like I said before I will not spend the $20 or whatever it is to see a bunch of "models" with their cloths on. Hate to put it that way in a family friendly forum, but that is the only way to put it. I know I will not bring my son to it that is for sure. Last year was nice with the actor that does Big Bird, Oscar, etc my son loved it. He also loved Sonny/Sunny as well he reached for her to give her a hug for crying out loud.
I think the only way to get SW guests is to have some SW friendly group or website say 501st, Rebel Legion, or sandtroopers.com try to an actor that is friendly to their group to sit with them at their booths. I am sure that the 501st and Rebel Legion have actors that are friendly with their group. I know st.com has some actors on their site that like to do appearances. But I am not sure if that will go over too well with the promoters. The only other way to probably get SW guests is to have someone start another promotion in the area and book more SW/Sci-Fi actors.
I am not trying to sound negative or anything but right now that is kinda how I see things. It doesn't look if you ask me and I can't tell you why. Maybe it has to do with the time of year the con is held who knows. The holiday season could be a time of rest for these folks since a lot of the cons are during the summers months and most of them go to those.

No offense to anyone here but, I agree with everything Jorge is saying about this. Save for the SW trivia, there's really no other sci-fi presence other than "Data".
As you know I can't make it this year either but, I wanted to let you know that I've not heard back from the organizer regarding a table yet.

it looks like they were planning ahead if Prowse couldn't make. Ray Park looks like he is heading back to town. Could this be a reunion of Mayhew and Bulloch as well? Happened a few yrs ago if I am not mistaken. Hopefully they continue in the right direction.

Nice, Ray Park, eh? Awesome, he had a great Q&A in 2007. However, his line at his table was huge, and he charged $25 per autograph.
