Meh, no special Mother's Day plans here...my mom works that weekend. And so do I.

Grah, I don't get off until 9pm that night, so I'm prolly gonna be there around 10-10:30ish. Unless anyone can give me some more speedy directions from Collierville Wal-Mart to Tim's house.

Let's hope we get to do this, folks. So far, the weather isn't looking so good for next weekend.
Oh, and the screen is down right now. I'm going to have to do some serious repairs. I tipped it over to redo the rigging, which has to be done every year to year-and-a-half. Well, when I tipped it, I forgot to tie the braces back, so one of them swung forward as it was tilting. Since gravity had taken over, I had no choice but to let it fall. There are about six or seven fittings that'll have to be reworked. Other than that, the damage wasn't as bad as I expected. But, this gives me a chance to make some improvements to the design. (Since the wind has changed considerably in the last couple of years, I need to overhaul some design flaws to make it stronger.
We can rebuild it. We can make it better.
Faster, more intense...

I hate when the weather doesn't cooperate. 
Hopefully we can get together no matter what, but it would be nice if it didn't rain...like it's supposed to all week. 
Edit: Oh, look at that. It's supposed to rain both Saturday and Sunday (in addition to Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week.....) Argh.

It doesn't look like the weather is going to cooperate with us for this weekend, so the Drive In Night is going to be delayed one week. The new date is Saturday, May 17.

Thanks for announcing that, Nicki. I'm going to need more time to prepare than anticipated. The screen repair has turned into more of an overhaul, since I found a little more damage now that I've started repairing it. But... and be afraid... I'm making some modifications to make it more resistant to tipping, and believe it or not, the frame going to be about a foot or two shorter after I'm done. But, it'll be a little wider because of some of the changes, but not much. And it'll have a larger footprint and an improved system of anchoring it into the ground. In other words, TIMAX is getting a facelift to get it through the next five years.
